The Belgian has attracted interest from a number of clubs after a good run in the Wolves reserves, Chief executive Jez Moxey said: "We would consider putting him out on loan if he is prepared to go.
There has been some interest in him, but not in terms of a permanent deal."

23rd January 2002

FA Charge Wolves

Wolves have been charged with misconduct by the FA following an incident in December’s Black Country derby match with West Brom at Molineux. The incident happened when West Brom's Jordao fouled Alex Rae  with a double footed tackle and players from both sides rushed to the point of the incident.
But only Wolves have been charged under FA Rule 21a which is a misconduct charge relating to the control of players.   It is alleged by the FA that the conduct of the players was not orderly and constituted threatening behavior.
Club secretary Richard Skirrow said on WOW: "We have requested a personal hearing and will contest the charge vigorously.
"We feel very hard done by as the most threatening aspect of the whole issue was the original tackle."

Proudlock Loan Off

Dave Jones had agreed for Adam Proudlock to spend a month's loan at Luton Town. But the young striker will not be making the switch as he is currently out with a knee injury. The 20 year old has been told he can leave Molineux for £2 million.

Wolves Target Belgian

Wolves boss Dave Jones next transfer target is Belgian defender Harald Finxten. Jones has been interested in the 25-year-old Royal Antwerp star for some time and has been keeping the player under the microscope. Finxten has been compared to Jaap Stam in both his looks and style of play and Jones feels he can be one of the keys he needs to open the door to Premiership football.
Wolves could use transfer-listed Cedric Roussel as part of a deal to land the defender. The Belgian-born Roussel has become surplus to requirements after failing to make his mark at Molineux following his £1.6million move from Coventry City.
Jones does have money to spend on his squad strengthening programme, but he is also anxious to off-load the men who no longer have a part to play in his plans.

22nd January 2002

Jones Takes Course

Wolves boss Dave Jones is currently helping the FA on a new course that will enable people to go into coaching or management with a clearer picture of what it’s all about. The FA is using some of football's more experienced personnel like Sammy Lee from Liverpool, Dario Gradi from Crewe and Wimbledon’s Terry Burton rather than beginners as students so any faults or problems can be ironed out, or any improvements implemented, before the course is launched on a proper basis.

21st January 2002

Lescott Not For Sale

Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey has responded on WOW to press reports linking Joleon Lescott and Kevin Muscat with possible moves away from Molineux.

"I was disappointed to read in the local press reports regarding a link between Kevin Muscat and Glasgow Rangers because there has been no contact between the clubs regarding the matter what-so-ever.
"It is pure speculation and unless someone comes in with an offer it will remain speculation.
"And, over the weekend, I’ve read reports in the national press that have linked both Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton with Joleon Lescott.
"But Joleon is perfectly happy here. He has signed a long contract and is looked upon as one of the foundation stones as we build a team not only capable of getting into the Premier League, but also winning things when we get there.
"So, whilst the speculation may well continue, the message is simply that Joleon is not for sale."

Mansfield Told Hands Off

Mansfield were reported to have made an offer for the 19-year-old as a long-term replacement for Chris Greenacre, whose contract expires at the end of the season.
Mansfield assistant coach Stuart Watkiss said: "We never made a bid of any kind to Wolves for Colin Larkin.
"He's a player we're aware of, and we did enquire about him but we were told he wasn't for sale so that's the end of it."

18th January 2002

Suspensions Update

Wolves will be without three players for their next game at Barnsley a week on Tuesday. Shaun Newton, Colin Cameron and Andy Sinton are all unavailable as they are suspended.
Newton and Cameron are out for only one match for picking up five bookings so far this season. But Sinton is out for three matches following his sending off in the reserves.
After the end of February FA rules are changing and a player won’t be suspended unless he is sent-off or reaches ten cautions for the season.
The change in rules might come to late for Nathan Blake, Kevin Muscat and Alex Rae who currently have four bookings each and one more yellow card again before the end of February, then they will face an automatic one match ban.

After a good performance he had his trial extended and played for the reserves against Birmingham, Burnley and Huddersfield. But during the game at Huddersfield he pulled a hamstring which put a halt to his progress. However the knock-back didn’t stop the club offering him a four-month contract, which will see him through until the end of the season.

The Wolves boss Dave Jones said: "It could take a week, a month or even longer to put things right. It certainly is a bit of a blow for Adam. We will have to wait and see what happens. Adam is currently on a course of anti-inflammatory drugs."

Paul Scally said: "We have decided not to extend Bob's loan spell with us and therefore he will return to Wolverhampton Wanderers."
Gillingham will be giving 22-year-old Luton striker Liam George a trial at Priestfield instead.

Match Should Survive Conditions

Wolves officials are confident that the freezing conditions will not affect Saturday’s FA Cup tie with Gillingham at Molineux. The ground was rock hard after several nights of below zero temperatures in Wolverhampton but the undersoil heating was switched on early on Wednesday morning and it was expected to have done its work well in advance of Saturday’s kick-off.

2nd January 2002

Taylor Could Play

Wolves boss Dave Jones has said if Gillingham buy Bob Taylor before the weekend he will let the striker play against Wolves on Saturday in the FA Cup 3rd Round match at Molineux.
Jones who is trying to cut the Molineux wage bill, did say he would not let the striker play against Wolves but now claims The Gills can field the player if Andy Hessenthaler puts an offer on the table before Saturday.
If Taylor returns to Molineux, he is expected to join Cedric Roussel and Michael Branch on the transfer list for which there has been no interested shown in yet.

Wolves Virus Crisis

JJ Melligan was called back to Molineux on Monday but then returned to Bournemouth to resume his loan spell with them after the illness and injury crisis at Molineux, as well as suspensions, had reduced the players available for the game at Crewe to just 16. Wolves boss Dave Jones put a temporary block on the proposed second month extension of the midfielder’s loan. But then the crisis was avoided thanks to a frozen pitch at Crewe and when the match was postponed the Wolves manager gave permission for JJ to return to Dean Court for a second month.

Dave Jones said on www.wolves.co.uk "We were down to 16 available players and there was a slight doubt with one of those, Colin Cameron, who took a knock on the ankle in the Sheffield United game.
"And there was always the chance that more of the players could have gone down with the bug that is going round.
"So I decided to hold JJ back and also cut short the Christmas breaks of Graham Ward and Mark Clyde. We were really stretched but at least the postponement has given people the chance to recover in time for the weekend."
