Fixture Update

Wolves match with Derby which was to be played at Pride Park on Saturday 12th February, has been postponed after the Rams' FA Cup fourth round draw with Fulham was taken to a replay.
A new date is yet to be confirmed and tickets will be valid for the rearranged fixture.

For more ticket information call the Wolves ticket office on: 0870 442 0123.

Camara Update

Wolves have done a u-turn on their decision not to allow Henri Camara to go on loan from Celtic, unless there was an acceptable offer to buy the striker outright.
They are now in discussions with Celtic and Southampton about the possibility of Henri Camara going to St Mary's on loan to the end of the season in exchange for a fee plus a player, also on loan.
Chief executive Jez Moxey said on WOW: "We are in talks but nothing will happen unless we are completely satisfied that the deal is to the benefit of Wolves."

Match Reaction

Glenn Hoddle pointed the finger at referee Mike Riley after Wolves' FA Cup ambitions had foundered on two penalty decisions. And he intimated that Premiership referees should not be put in charge of Cup ties involving a Premiership side and one from outside the top flight. The Wolves manager was disappointed at the decision which allowed Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira to score the opening goal from the penalty spot in Arsenal's 2-0 victory after Thierry Henry was adjudged to have been brought down by goalkeeper Michael Oakes. But Hoddle was positively fuming at Riley's decision to deny Wolves a spot-kick in first-half injury-time when Arsenal defender Pascal Cygan pulled back the shirt of Wolves defender Joleon Lescott.

"He's a Premiership referee and there was definitely a familiarity between him and their players," insisted Hoddle.
"I don't know how they choose the referees but it has got to be looked at.
"We had a cast-iron penalty not given to us and they got a penalty which was soft; some referees would give it, some wouldn't."

A late Freddie Ljungberg strike eventually gave Arsenal a comfortable victory after a second half in which they squandered a series of chances.

Team News

Arsenal: will not be holding back in Saturday's FA Cup fourth-round tie at home to Wolves as Arsene Wenger confirmed that Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira would both start.
Robert Pires and Dennis Bergkamp may be rested ahead of next Tuesday's clash against Manchester United.
However, while Kolo Toure is suspended and Philippe Senderos is injured, Wenger will otherwise send out a strong line-up against Glenn Hoddle's side.
Freddie Ljungberg will return after a hamstring injury, while Jose Antonio Reyes and Robin van Persie could also be included and Jens Lehmann will temporarily replace Manuel Almunia in goal.
However, Jermaine Pennant, who could move to Birmingham on loan next week, and Edu, who is in talks with Valencia, are not expected to feature in the squad.

Wolves: striker Dean Sturridge has returned to fitness ahead of the game at Highbury.
The 31-year-old has spent six weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring injury but made his comeback during a 2-2 midweek friendly draw against Blackburn Rovers.
Goalkeeper Matt Murray has been ruled out after foot surgery so Michael Oakes will keep his place.
George Ndah, Vio Ganea and Rob Edwards are still sidelined, but Glenn Hoddle could include 18-year-old striker Chris Cornes in the travelling party.

Jack Harris Dies

From Wolves Official Website:

Wolves' vice-president, and former chairman, Jack Harris died this morning. He had been taken to hospital yesterday afternoon having suffered a stroke.
Mr Harris, who joined the club's board of directors in 1986 and retired in December 2003, was 79.
An ardent football fan, Mr Harris' love of the game saw him take on directorships at Newport County and Walsall before coming to Molineux when the Gallaghers and the Council rescued Wolves from the Receivers in 1986.

He served as chairman from 1988 and 1992, when he handed over to Jonathan Hayward. However, club owner Sir Jack Hayward invited Mr Harris to remain as a director. A stand was named after him in the re-built Molineux in 1993 in tribute to his work for the club.
Upon his retirement from the board, Mr Harris, a Shropshire industrialist, was appointed the club's first ever vice-president.

Wolves chairman Rick Hayward says: "Jack steered the club through one of the most difficult periods in its history. He was a strong and safe pair of hands at a time when there was tremendous upheaval. The Wolverhampton Wanderers of today has a lot to be grateful to him for.
"Personally he taught me a great deal about football and had a real talent in the board room for getting to the heart of the matter. I last spoke to him at the West Ham match where he was thrilled to see us win 4-2.
"I'm very upset to hear that he has passed on. My father, Sir Jack, is on his way to Los Angeles and I know he will be devastated when he hears this news.
"Jack was much loved by everyone at the club and particularly by the Hayward family. He will be missed by all of us. Our sympathies go to his family."

Mr Harris was chairman of the family engineering business in Telford. He leaves a wife Muriel, son John, also a former director of Wolves, and daughters Jane, Diane, Susan and Julie.
The team will wear black armbands during the match at Arsenal tomorrow and there will be a minute's silence prior to next Friday's home game against Sunderland.

Camara Loan Again?

Celtic's on-loan striker Henri Camara could spend the rest of the season at Southampton. Saints boss Harry Redknapp has confirmed he wants to borrow the Senegal international, who is on loan at Parkhead from Wolves for the season.
He told the Daily Record: "We have made an enquiry about Camara and we are trying to take him on loan for the rest of the season.
"I don't know how close to a deal but [chairman] Rupert Lowe has been in touch with Celtic."
Celtic paid Wolves £1.5m to borrow the player, who has contributed eight goals this season.

But Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey has reminded Celtic and Southampton that only the Molineux club can decide Henri Camara's future.
He said on WOW: "We entered into an agreement with Celtic that will keep Henri Camara at until the end of the season. They have indicated that they want to keep him until the end of the season and that is what we expect to happen.
"The only club that will decide if he is to move elsewhere is ourselves. We have an agreement with Celtic and they can not loan him on without our permission. We have not received or expect any request for him to move and, with the transfer window closing in the next few days, we do not anticipate any change to the situation."

Reserve Match Postponed

Tomorrow's reserve match at Manchester City has been postponed for the second time.
The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday evening but was put back for 48 hours because of City's involvement in the FA Youth Cup. They face Brighton and the winners will meet Wolves in the fifth round of the competition.

Knocks and bruises picked up by members of the Molineux squad in training and during yesterday's friendly with Blackburn meant that Wolves would have had to field a very young side against City who, with their youngsters playing tonight, in all probability would have put out a team which included several senior players. So it was decided to put the game back again.

It will now take place on Wednesday 23rd March. The game at Telford against Blackburn Rovers which was due to have taken place the previous evening, has been brought forward and will be played on Monday, 21st March meaning two games in three days for the Wolves reserve team.

Friendly Draw

Wolves played a behind closed doors friendly at the Bucks Head, Telford against Blackburn Rovers, so boss Glenn Hoddle could take a look at trialist Adam Petrous and some of the club's younger players.
Striker Dean Sturridge also got a run out after a six-week lay off with a hamstring injury, but was replaced in a pre-determined move after an hour.

Matt Derbyshire gave Blackburn a second minute lead with a shot that took a wicked deflection on its way past Wolves keeper Carl Ikeme. Then, just before the interval, Jonathan Douglas headed a their second.

Leon Clarke pulled one back for Wolves seven minutes from time with a low, angled shot.
Then, in the final minute, the striker was fouled by Jamie McEveley in the Rovers box for an obvious penalty. Clarke picked himself up and dusted himself down before thumping the ball home from the spot.

Glenn Hoddle said on WOW: "It was a good comeback and it was nice for Leon to get onto the scoresheet with a couple of goals.
"The game gave me the chance to take another look at some of our younger players and Adam Petrous who has been training with us.
"And it was good to have Dean Sturridge back again. He looked quite sharp and hopefully we'll get a bit more out of him when we play at Manchester City reserves on Thursday."

Wolves: Ikeme, Edwards (Rafferty 80), Lowe, Flynn (Fitzpatrick 60), Bjorklund, Petrous, Mulligan (Cornes 38), Clingan (Riley 65), Sturridge (Musson 60), Clarke, Cooper.
Unused Sub: Hennessey.

Another Call Up

Wolves defender Mark Clyde has been called up into the Northern Ireland squad for the friendly game against Canada at Windsor Park, Belfast, on Wednesday, 9th February.
It will be his third cap if he plays a part in the match, after he made his breakthrough into the senior international side in the drawn World Cup qualifier against Wales at the Millennium Stadium in September last year. He then played in the following game in Azerbaijan which was also drawn.
But then during a Northern Ireland training session he suffered an ankle injury, which ruled him out of contention for a World Cup qualifier in Austria and he also missed seven domestic games for Wolves.

Hoddle's First Signing?

Wolves boss Glenn Hoddle is hoping to make Czech central defender Adam Petrous his first signing, with talks planned for early this week.
The 27-year-old, who plays in the Russian Premier League with Rubin Kazan, has spent the last week on trial at Molineux.
Hoddle will try to bring him in on loan for the rest of the season with a view to a permanent move.

Hoddle said: "We should fly there on Monday or Tuesday for talks.
"Adam would first come on loan until the end of the season because the financial requirements of Kazan are unacceptable."

If Petrous' does come to Molineux, Joleon Lescott has been linked with a move to Middlesbrough.
The 22-year-old defender has been impressive since returning to action after missing the whole of last season through injury, but Hoddle will be keen that the signing of Petrous should bolster the squad rather than be a replacement for Lescott's possible departure.

Clingan Called Up

Wolves midfielder Sammy Clingan, who recently returned to Molineux after a loan spell with Chesterfield, has been called up into the Northern Ireland under 21 squad for a friendly against Scotland in Belfast that will be played on Tuesday 8th February.

Clingan has also attracted the interest of Mansfield caretaker manager Carlton Palmer, who is said to be closing in on the signature of Clingan.
The 21-year-old  has yet to make a first-team appearance for Wolves but scored two goals in 15 games while on a three-month loan at Chesterfield.
And Palmer said: "I'm waiting on Glenn Hoddle who has got him back from Chesterfield and is having a good look at him but he's said he'll keep me informed.
"That's the type of midfield player I'm interested in, but there have been about six other clubs after him both in our division and from the one above.
"But I'll keep abreast of the situation and keep looking for that type of player."

Academy Draw

Wolves Academy under 18s drew 1-1 with Everton at Compton Park on Saturday.

Everton went ahead after 11 minutes when one of their strikers out-muscled Martin Riley and went on to score.
But Wolves pulled level ten minutes later when Stephen Gleeson chipped a lovely ball over the Everton centre-half to Tom Stewart who scored with a firm header.

Match Reaction

Wolves manager Glenn Hoddle paid tribute to Seol, who is becoming Millwall's nemesis - having also scored against them in the FA Cup win.
His effort today handed Wolves their third successive victory - a feat they had not previously achieved this or last season - and their fourth away from home in the Championship this term.
Seol's speed and skill on the ball enabled Wolves to break effectively when Millwall put them under pressure.

Hoddle said: "With players like Seol in the team, we have a get-out clause - because he has that pace and skill.
"Since I took over as manager, he has scored goals for us and created chances as well.
"We changed his position slightly today, and he adapted well; Seol has a few strings to his bow."

Millwall's equaliser from the penalty spot resulted from a bizarre decision by referee Lee Probert, who ruled that Joleon Lescott had fouled Barry Hayles even though the defender seemed simply to be shepherding the ball back to goalkeeper Michael Oakes.

Hoddle added: "It was a soft penalty to give."

Murray Out For Season

Wolves keeper Matt Murray has been ruled out for the rest of the season after breaking his foot, it is his right foot on which Murray required surgery last season, when he had a bone graft.
The 23-year-old is booked in for surgery next Friday, with the club predicting he faces a further six months on the sidelines.
The highly-rated 'keeper missed almost all of last season with a stress fracture of the foot, and a fresh break was revealed after Murray complained of pain following the 4-2 win over West Ham last weekend.

Team News

Millwall: player-manager Dennis Wise must decide whether to stick with Graham Stack or recall fit-again Andy Marshall in goal for the home match against Wolves.
On-loan Stack lost his place to Marshall in mid-December, but impressed when called up to face Nottingham Forest last weekend.
Wise himself has not played since the home defeat by Rotherham on January 3.
He is due to learn the results of scans this week to determine the root of the problem that causes him to lose the feeling in his legs during matches.

Wolves: goalkeeper Michael Oakes is expecting a recall ahead of Wolves' trip to the New Den.
With Matt Murray's foot injury causing him problems after last week's win over West Ham, Oakes is expected to get the nod ahead of the inexperienced Carl Ikeme.
George Ndah (thigh) joins fellow forwards Dean Sturridge (hamstring) and Vio Ganea (cruciate) on the sidelines, but full-back Rob Edwards - back following ankle ligament surgery - could be included in the travelling party.

Reserves Lose

Wolves lost 3-1 in the reserves derby against Aston Villa at Telford on Tuesday evening.

Wolves fell behind midway through the first half. Ulises de la Cruz went on a run down the right and his cross found Luke Moore just eight-yards out, the striker turning to thump the ball into the roof of the net.
Villa went two up in the 31st minute with Luke Moore again the scorer - this time from close in after he had held off Shaun Newton's challenge.
With a minute of the first half to go, Clarke pulled one back for Wolves when he hooked a ferocious volley past Postma after a pinpoint cross from Cornes.
Villa's third came in the 55th minute, Hitzlsperger took advantage of some slack marking to score with a low shot from the edge of the box.

FA Youth Cup

Wolves youth team went through to the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup after beating Barnsley 2-1.

The game opened dramatically with both sides finding the back of the net inside the opening five minutes. Just three minutes had gone when Mark Davies latched on to Martin Riley's long clearance and drove an angled shot past Barnsley keeper Andrew Naylor from just inside the box.
Seconds later the visitors were level. Nathan Jarman crossed from the left and when the under pressure Wayne Hennessey failed to collect cleanly, Adam Jordan fired into the empty net.
In first-half stoppage time Davies restored Wanderers' lead with a cracking shot from 22-yards that curled over Naylor after the midfielder had picked up a short pass from Riley.

Wolves: Hennessey, Little, Rafferty, Taylor, Riley, Davies, Musson (Bennett 90), Gleeson, Stewart, Cornes, Fitzpatrick.

Injury News

Wolves injury plagued striker George Ndah's comeback has had to be put on hold after he suffered another injury setback.
He was supposed to play in tomorrow's reserve game with Aston Villa at Telford but he has had to pull out after suffering a thigh strain in Tuesday morning's training session at ComptonPark.
George's Molineux career has been decimated by injury. Apart from outings in some pre-season friendlies last summer, his last appearance in the club's colours was in the first-leg of the play-off semi-final against Reading in May 2003.
Last week he played for 45 trouble free minutes in a behind closed doors friendly with Crewe.

Keeper Matt Murray has been for a scan on his foot after suffering pain during Saturday's match with West Ham.
He was featuring in his first League game since the start of last season, after he suffered a stress fracture to his foot in the Premiership season 2003/04 which sidelined him for the remainder of the season.
Physio Barry Holmes said on WOW: "Matt complained once more of foot pain after Saturday's game.
"The fear is he may have a reoccurrence of problems with the fracture, which had been fixed with a screw and bone graft towards the end of last season.
"He will be be seeing the specialist on Friday and we should have more information at that stage."

17th January 2005

Academy Draw

Wolves Academy where three goals up at half time in their match with Stoke, but they had to be satisfied with a point from their trip to the Potteries after a second-half fight-back from the home team. But coach John Perkins said he thought that Stoke were very fortunate with all of their goals. Two of them took wicked deflections and the other was a highly dubious penalty.

Wolves went ahead in the seventh minute after Mark Davies had taken the ball round the Stoke keeper. His shot was cleared off the line by a defender but the ball only went as far as Stephen Gleeson who lobbed it back into the net.
Tom Stewart got the second three minutes later after he had run on to a good pass from Jordan Fitzpatrick and beat the keeper with a low shot.
The third came on 25 minutes following a throw-in when Gleeson converted from eight-yards for his second of the game.

Stoke pulled one back just before the hour mark when the deflected shot completely wrong-footed Carl Ikeme, then Stoke got another when Mark Little was penalised for handball after the ball had been booted at him from three-yards. He had no chance of avoiding it but the referee gave a penalty and they scored.
The equaliser came with 14 minutes left when a free-kick took two deflections on its way into the net.

Ince Wants Molineux Role

Wolves captain Paul Ince has admitted he would like to remain at Molineux when his playing career comes to an end after this season.
The former Manchester United, Internazionale and Liverpool midfielder had been previously linked with becoming Dave Jones's successor before the club appointed Glenn Hoddle on a six-month contract.

The former England skipper is hoping to remain at Molineux in a coaching capacity. The Guvnor said "Management is obviously the next step.
"I love it here with Wolves. I am certainly looking to stay on in some capacity, maybe as a steward or something!"

16th January 2005

Match Reaction

Wolves boss Glenn Hoddle's demand to put substance ahead of style paid dividends at Molineux where the Black Country club secured their first Coca-Cola Championship win of his tenure.
Wolves, ordered to "win ugly" by a manager considered a connoisseur of the passing game, ran out 4-2 winners over West Ham to secure their first victory in seven league outings since Hoddle took charge last month.

Kenny Miller opened the scoring for Wolves before Bobby Zamora bagged his fifth goal of the season to ensure a 1-1 deadlock at half-time.
The hosts took the lead again thanks to Scottish international Miller's lunging back-post volley, his 12th strike of the season.
But another equaliser from Zamora made the scoreline 2-2 ahead of Wanderers skipper Paul Ince scoring against his former club.
And when Carl Cort converted the easiest of chances, the hosts were guaranteed three points.

Hoddle said: "They were probably four of the ugliest goals we've scored since I arrived here but at least we've punished the opposition when they made mistakes.
"We didn't start the game as well as I would've liked so at half-time I told the players their performances would have to improve.
"I told the players they would have to win the game ugly.
"We went back out for the second half and got our noses in front but then West Ham got it back to 2-2 and that was a critical point in the game.
"But we got the next goal and went on to win it 4-2.
"We didn't play as well as we can, but by the 90th minute we had the three points in the bag and after having won in the FA Cup last week as well, we've now got a platform on which to build our confidence."

Team News

Wolves: boss Glenn Hoddle collected his first win against Millwall in the FA Cup last weekend, but he is still searching for his first league success after seven failed attempts.
Hoddle has doubts over strikers Carl Cort and Kenny Miller and midfielder Seyi Olofinjana after all three players picked up minor injuries against Millwall, however he remains hopeful that they will start against the Hammers.
Several players have also been affected by colds, forcing them to miss training, but the former England coach should be able to name an unchanged side.

West Ham: go to Molineux having beaten leaders Ipswich 2-0 in their last away game.
Matthew Etherington and Steven Bywater are expected to return to Alan Pardew's side after missing the 1-0 FA Cup win over Norwich last weekend, but veteran striker Teddy Sheringham is still absent.

Another Trialist

Wolves are giving a trial to Paraguayan defender Angel Martinez.
The 21-year-old was training with Ipswich earlier this week, but he is now trying his luck at Molineux.
He last club was Tacuary in his homeland and they seem happy to let him depart.

Reserves Practice Match

Wolves reserves beat Crewe Alexandra 3-0 in a behind closed doors friendly this morning at Compton Park.
Striker George Ndah made his return and played for 45 minutes and Rob Edwards played for 90 minutes. Glenn Hoddle watched their return and he also took the opportunity to watch two South American trialists - Paraguayan central defender Angel Martinez and Guatemalan striker Guillermo Ramirez.

Wolves took the lead in the 28th minute when Clarke converted from close range after Edwards had run on to Ndah's defence splitting pass and pulled the ball back from the by-line.
Two minutes later, Kevin Cooper found Clarke with a neat pass and his low shot went under the Crewe keeper for the second.
Just four minutes into the second half Cooper got Wolves third, with a superb free-kick that flew over the visitors defensive wall and into the top corner.

Boss Glenn Hoddle said on WOW: "George got 45 minutes under his belt, Incey topped up his match fitness by playing for over an hour, and Rob played for the whole game so it was a more than useful exercise - a really good work-out.
"Conditions weren't ideal as there was no shelter from the wind which was gusting around, and it felt very cold. But otherwise I'm very pleased with the way it all went."

Wolves Team: Ikeme, Lowe (Riley 80), Edwards, Ince (Gleeson 68), Martinez, Bjorklund (Flynn 54), Cooper (Cornes 68), Ramirez (Fitzpatrick 86), Clarke (Rafferty 70), Cameron (Davies 58), Ndah (Mulligan 45).

Ramirez On Trial

Guatemalan striker Guillermo Ramirez has been given a week-long trial by Wolves boss Glenn Hoddle.
Ramirez is the captain of his national team and is currently on the books of Municipal who are the current domestic champions.

Municipal chairman Gerald Villa is expected to fly to England next week for talks over the 24-year-old's possible transfer.
Hoddle is looking to add to his attacking options but has so far met with little success either at home or abroad.
He has already run the rule over Norwegian Alexander Aas, who failed to impress on a 10-day trial, and he admitted: "We're finding it difficult at the moment.
"But I think there'll be more movement when we come towards the end of the transfer window."

FA Cup Draw

Wolves have drawn Arsenal in the Fourth Round of the FA Cup. The match will be played at Highbury on 29/30/31st of January.
Former Wolves defender Dennis Irwin took part in selecting the teams, he picked Arsenal and Neville Southall picked out Wolves.

Reserves Match Postponed

This evenings reserves game at Newcastle has been called off. Storm damage at Kingston Park, the home of United's reserve team and the city's Rugby Union club, forced the postponement.
No new date for the game has yet been announced.

Match Reaction

Four-times FA Cup finalist Glenn Hoddle found the competition kind to him again as it provided the first win of a troubled start to his Molineux career. Wolves had drawn five and lost one of their opening six games of his reign.

But two goals in the first 11 minutes killed off Millwall, who were beaten in last season's final. The visitors were without nine first-team players for the lunchtime clash at Molineux.

"I'm delighted with the first win," Hoddle said. "We hope this is going to kick-start us in the league as well because it should give us some confidence.
"We played some excellent stuff in the first half and we came out of the blocks much quicker than them. It was also good to get a clean sheet.
"The FA Cup has been good for me but now it's important we give the fans a nice run."

For the second successive Saturday, Wolves were boosted by a tremendous goal by Ki-Hyeon Seol, the South Korean star side-stepping his marker to crash in a 20-yard left-footed shot in only the eighth minute.
With Millwall still in disarray, Mark Kennedy's free-kick was headed home from close range by Carl Cort, with Joleon Lescott, Cort and Lee Naylor going close to further goals.
Millwall were awful before the interval and had another setback when midfielder Peter Sweeney was carried off with ligament damage which will keep him out for six weeks.
The referee also failed to reappear for the second half because of injury but the Londoners improved considerably after Wolves striker Kenny Miller had been denied what looked like being a third goal.

Goalkeeper Matt Murray made a couple of good saves on his return to the home team and Millwall striker Barry Hayles somehow missed after going round the keeper.

Team News

Wolves: manager Glenn Hoddle is sweating on the fitness of Paul Ince.
Ince marked his comeback from a toe infection with an outing in the 2-0 defeat at Wigan but sustained a gash to the knee which required stitches.
Hoddle has rated Ince as having only a 50-50 chance of featuring against the Lions but right-back Rob Edwards, who has recovered from ankle ligament surgery, could be given a run-out.
Wolves will also be without the services of long-term absentee Vio Ganea, who is on the way back from cruciate knee ligament surgery, while George Ndah is recovering from a thigh problem and Dean Sturridge has been ruled out by a hamstring strain.

Millwall: Player-boss Dennis Wise, who led his team to last season's FA Cup final, will miss the start of the Lions' latest campaign at Wolves.
Wise wants to find out why he has been losing the feeling in his legs during matches and will see a specialist on Monday.
However Millwall can welcome back striker Barry Hayles, who missed last Monday's home match with Rotherham through suspension.
Daniele Dichio completes a two-game ban at Molineux, while fellow forward Paul Ifill is still injured.
Defender Darren Ward could return after missing the last three matches with an ankle injury, but captain Kevin Muscat serves a one-match ban.

Hoddle Trying To Strengthen

Boss Glenn Hoddle admits he is doing everything in his power to strengthen his squad at Molineux.
Wolves have endured a miserable season following relegation from the The Premiership and thus far, Hoddle has been unable to rejuvenate what has been a difficult campaign.
The former Tottenham chief is looking to bring players in on-loan but has found attracting the right calibre of performer increasingly difficult.

''It's quite frustrating but getting loan people in is not an easy scenario,'' said Hoddle.
''There are a couple who have gone to Premiership teams and I can understand that, but we're going down the list on certain positions, rather than getting the number ones and number twos we've been trying to get.
''That's frustrating but we are trying to freshen up the squad.''

Clingan Returns From Loan

Wolves midfielder Sammy Clingan has finished his loan spell at Chesterfield and returned to Molineux.
The 20-year-old was eligible to play for them this weekend but their home clash with Hull has been called off.
During Clingan's three month loan he made 15 appearances, scoring twice, including a 30-yard screamer against Sheffield Wednesday.

The Northern Ireland Under-21 international, who played his final game in the 2-2 draw with Barnsley, said on WOW: "I've enjoyed it and it's been a real experience playing week in, week out.
"Overall it's been a pleasure and I thank everyone at Chesterfield and hopefully I can go back to Wolves and get into the first team now.
"I would like to think that I have helped Chesterfield. I tried my best whilst I have been here and I want to thank the club for all they have done for me.
Clingan added about his goals: "It was a dream. I don't usually score that many and to score two goals in three games was great for me. But the one against Sheffield Wednesday was delightful and I was pleased with that."

Match Reaction

Wolves ended a run of five straight 1-1 draws but certainly not in the manner that they had hoped with new manager Glenn Hoddle picking up the first defeat of his winless reign.
His side remain 19th in the Championship and his ambition of a play-off place seems more unlikely than ever with just six points separating Wolves from the relegation zone and a gap of 13 points to the top six.

Hoddle blamed a "lack of desire" for the reverse and said: "We lost the game because we didn't start correctly.
"We didn't have the desire that Wigan had, we didn't match their desire. We had the desire when we were in possession but we didn't have it, for the first time since I've been here, when the opponents had the ball. That surprised me.
"I'm not going to make excuses about matches in a short space of time."

The former England boss admitted his side never looked like getting anything from the match and added: "Five games before, we've drawn, and quite honestly we could have won those games. But tonight we didn't deserve anything."

Match Reaction

Frustrated Wolves manager Glenn Hoddle tore into his players after they had been held to an astonishing fifth one-all draw in five games under his control.
The ex-England boss had seen his team fall behind before rallying in each of the first four but this time saw them carelessly let Plymouth back into contention at windswept Molineux.
Wolves might well have been out of sight at the interval but were then pegged back before being booed off by their fans for the second successive game.

"The strikers have got to be more ruthless," said Hoddle.
"We should have been three up at half time. We need to strengthen in that area because once we get a lead, we should finish teams off."

Korean World Cup star Seol showed the way with a stunning 25th-minute strike - a venomous right-foot shot from almost 30 yards after latching on to Kenny Miller's pass.
But his first Championship goal was followed by two misses from Miller, the first when he went round keeper Romain Larrieu, only to be denied by a brilliant interception by defender Mathias Doumbe.
Wolves' woe was then underlined in the 58th minute when keeper Michael Oakes dropped a right-wing centre and allowed Bjarni Gudjonsson to square for David Friio to turn coolly and fire home.

It was the midfielder's sixth goal of the season that left Hoddle fuming: "I've never been in charge of a team that has given away so many stupid goals back-to-back," he added.
"If we have any intention of doing well, that has got to stop. Michael Oakes should have made the ball his although I feel Mickey Evans committed a foul on him by jumping into him."
