Transfer News

Wolves have signed Arsenal striker Jeremie Aliadiere on loan until the end of the season.
The 22-year-old began the season on loan at Celtic then moved to West Ham and will play the rest of the season at Molineux.

Striker Leon Clarke and 20-year-old defender Keith Lowe are going on loan to QPR until the end of the season, they will not be allowed to play against Wolves on the 4th March. Lowe has spent three months on loan at Burnley earlier this season.

Wolves have come to an arrangement with keeper Paul Jones to terminate his contract with immediate effect.
The 38-year-old keeper, who signed in 2004 (the second time in his career) will leave Molineux today and become a free agent.
Boss Glenn Hoddle said on WOW: "We wish Paul all the best. He has been a good servant to Wolves during two spells and we hope he finds another club soon."

Academy youngster Daniel Jones has signed a professional contract at Wolves. The 19-year-old left-sided player this morning put pen to paper on a three and a half year deal.
Daniel, from Sedgley, first joined Wolves as a schoolboy player aged nine. But, after earning himself a scholarship with the club, he suffered a major set-back in November 2004 when he broke his thigh bone in a training ground accident.
However, he has battled back and been a regular this season for the reserves, with his performances impressing the manager sufficiently to warrant the award of a lengthy contract.

Match Reaction

The result was a massive disappointment for Hoddle, whose side might have levelled through Carl Cort midway through the first-half, only for the giant striker to nod tamely over from 10 yards.
"The last thing we wanted to do against United was concede an early goal but if we had got to half-time just one goal down, it could have been a real cup-tie," said Hoddle.
"The second goal was a poor one to concede and killed us off really.
"Now we have 16 games left to secure our main aim, which is promotion, and at least this has given us an idea of the levels we are trying to reach."

Striker Signs

Wolves have completed the signing of Tomasz Frankowski from Spanish side Elche on a two and a half year contract, for an initial fee of £1.4m.
The Polish international was at Molineux yesterday for a medical and to discuss personal terms. An agreement was reached with the 15-times capped player who could now make his debut against Manchester United at the weekend. This will depend on Wolves getting international clearance.
The deal with Elche also includes an additional promotion-related payment.

Also Maurice Ross has signed a deal that will keep him at Molineux until the end of the season.
The defender joined Wolves on loan from Sheff Wed in October, has now completed a free transfer.

Reserves Lose

Wolves reserves lost 1-0 to Liverpool reserves last night, a consolation for Wolves fans was keeper Matt Murray came through the 90 minutes without any problems.

Liverpool scored the only goal of the game in the 65th minute, but it was a very special goal.
From the centre circle of his own half, Hamann taking a free-kick spotted Murray off his line organising his defence, and he lifted the ball half the length of the field into the back of the net.

Wolves Reserves: Murray, Little, Jones, Ricketts (Gleeson 75), Lowe, Rafferty, Cornes, O'Connor, Ganea, Clarke, Rosa (France 84).
Unused Subs: Stewart, Harrison, Salmon.

Transfer News

Wolves have agreed a fee for Poland striker Tomasz Frankowski with Spanish second division side Elche.
The 31-year-old arrived in Spain in the summer from Polish side Wisla Krakow and is under contract until 2008. He scored seven goals for his country who qualified for the 2006 World Cup, including one against England at Old Trafford last autumn.
"We have reached an agreement with Wolverhampton," an Elche spokesperson confirmed.
"We are satisfied with the offer the English club have made for the player and we have allowed Frankowski to begin negotiations to agree terms with Wolverhampton."
Wolves will reportedly pay 2million euros (£1.38million) to the Valencian outfit for the striker, subject to the agreement of personal terms and the player passing a medical.
Frankowski has netted eight league goals so far this season to help Elche remain in mid-table in the Segunda Liga.

Midfielder Sammy Clingan is due to have a medical at Notts Forest today.
Forest look set to offer the Northern Irish under 21 international a two and half year contract.
Wolves will receive a nominal fee from the League One outfit and the deal also includes a sell-on clause.

Maurice Ross loan from Sheff Wed is due to expire this Wednesday, but he is in talks with Wolves, with the club offering the defender a deal until the end of the season.
Jez Moxey confirmed: "We've made Maurice an offer and talks continue."

22nd January 2006

Match Reaction

Wolves boss Glenn Hoddle said: "We've played much better this season and lost, so I think it's a fair result.
"I've got to be honest in this league if you are not at your best you can still win the game but we didn't do enough.
"In the last third we were lacking. That's the problem, the last third has let us down all season. We haven't been clinical enough,
"We weren't clinical enough and that is why I'm trying to improve that part of the pitch.
"The draws are killing us at the moment. Sometimes you can win those 1-0 when you are not at your very best but we've drawn again."

Macclesfield Town FC Appeal

The Final Push

Macclesfield Town Football Club have less than two weeks to go before the deadline to pay the FA nearly £300,000 or face insolvency. The Silkmen fans and the club have been busy fundraising since day one but now the donations are needed more than ever for the final push towards the fine.
Last month Macclesfield Town were hit hard by the F.A. who ordered the Cheshire club pay them in the region of £300,000 by the end of January. This took the form of a fine and repayment for offences relating to the building of the new stand.
Two of these charges, which incorporate almost 80% of the full amount, the club still strenuously deny.
It was immediately clear that a club the size of Macclesfield Town, and indeed most other organizations, would struggle to raise that sort of money in the draconian six week timescale given by the F.A.
The Club and its supporters both moved swiftly to begin the seemingly insurmountable task of raising the required money.
The club announced last week that we have raised a total of around £50,000. Macc chairman Rob Bickerton said "It's gone okay, most of the money we've had so far has been through donations. We had around £50,000 by last Wednesday (11th Jan) but obviously it's hard to give an exact amount when a lot of it is in 10 pence pieces!
"We have a big mountain to climb. We can see the top and are working hard to get there, but I couldn't say if we'll get there or not."

There are currently many ways to donate money to Save Our Silkmen. They are the following:
1) The Save Our Silkmen Pixsale Website
Visit www.saveoursilkmen.co.uk and donate £1.25 per square towards the SOS fund giving you a square on the Pixsale website with your message of support. You can buy as many squares as you want.
Businesses, Companies or your own website can advertise on the Pixsale website for just £75 for a space of 40 squares. The Save Our Silkmen Pixsale website will be up and running for years to come so it will guarantee a constant stream of visits to your websites.
A Save Our Silkmen Pixsale League Table has been created showing all the clubs that have donated to this scheme. From Gravesend and Northfleet to FC St Pauli and Sale Sharks! Fans from across the world have already pledged their support.
The aim of the Pixsale website is to raise £10,000 before midnight on January 31st. You can help buy buying a square or three or twenty.

2) Donate by Cheque
Cheques for donations should be sent to the following address:
SILKMEN SUPPORTERS' TRUST
C/o Daniels Solicitors
County Chambers
6 Chestergate
Macclesfield
Cheshire
SK11 6BA
Please make cheques payable to SILKMEN SUPPORTERS' TRUST.
Please include a stamped, addressed envelope if you require a receipt.
Important: Names of donors and sizes of donations will be kept anonymous unless you explicitly tell us you don't mind either your name or the size of your donation being used in publicity.
For more information visit
www.silkmen.org.uk

3) Attend the Fans United day at the Moss Rose.
One of several initiatives being run by the club is a decision to host a Fans United day at the Moss Rose at 3.00pm, Sunday January 29th when the club face Carlisle United in a League Two clash.
A Silkmen Supporters Trust spokesman Mike Griffiths said: "All supporters of Macclesfield Town feel that the FA have been unjustly ruthless in the size and timescale of this punishment. We are working hard to help raise the money and want to support the Club's move to create this Fans United Day. We hope that supporters from across the country will come and enjoy the day with us. Our four games since Christmas have seen 20 goals so it could prove to be very entertaining for the neutral even if the loyal fans fingernails don't last the full 90 minutes!
"The day will also involve a collection for our newly formed Silkmen Supporters Trust who have pledged to help Macclesfield Town raise the £300,000 they need by the end of the month."
Fans United days have proved to be incredibly successful in the past as the football family turn out to support one of their own who are undergoing a crisis.
Events at Cambridge and Wrexham last year attracted 1,000 and 1,400 extra supporters respectively.
Supporters of all clubs are invited to attend the game wearing their own team's colours to show their support for the Silkmen in their hour of need.

So there you go. Three ways to help Save Our Silkmen. You choose the right one for you or even better - choose all three.
Thank you for reading (that’s if you got this far) and a big thank you to those that have or will be donating to Save Our Silkmen!

Miller Signs Pre-Contract With Celtic

Striker Kenny Miller has signed a pre-contract agreement with Celtic, his current deal at Molineux expires at the end of this season.
Miller signed for Wolves from Rangers in December 2001 for £3mil.
He has pledged full commitment to Wolves for the rest of this season.
He said on WOW: "Clearly, my focus for the rest of this season is with Wolves and I will be doing all I can to assist the club in its efforts to secure promotion to the Premiership."

18th January 2006

Miller Update

Kenny Miller's agent has confirmed the striker has not yet decided his future, and could still end up in The Premiership, Serie A or SPL.
Celtic were reported to be closing in on a pre-contract, but Miller is understood to still be considering offers from both England and Italy.
The Scottish international is also still looking at the possibility of staying at Wolves, but with a host of clubs hovering it seems a move is likely.

"There is no pre-contract in place with any club," Miller's agent David Baldwin told skysports.com.
"Kenny is looking at things and we are considering his options.
"Family, football and finance are the things Kenny must consider and that is what he is doing."
Baldwin admitted that the interest was considerable in the 26-year-old.
"As is widely known there are a number of options for Kenny and indeed he could yet move abroad," he added.
"We have had a couple of Serie A clubs ask about him and no doubt that has materialised after Kenny's terrific showing against Italy during the World Cup qualifiers.
"But as we said nothing has been agreed yet, and Kenny and I are sitting down and going over the options.
"Something could of course happen in the next few hours, but it might be the next few days."

Fixture Moved Again

Wolves home league game against Stoke is being moved again, it's now to be played on Tuesday 7th March.
The match was put back 24 hours because of the FA Cup 4th round match being played at Molineux on Sunday 29th January.
After initially agreeing to move the game to Wednesday 1st February, Stoke officials realised the new date clashes with a tribute dinner at the Britannia Stadium for the late Sir Stanley Matthews.

Club secretary Richard Skirrow said on WOW: "We were grateful that Stoke accommodated our request for the 24 hour postponement it seemed only fair to co-operate with their call to move the game again.
"Sir Stanley was a legendary player special to Stoke City and we understand that the club will want to give this event the attention it deserves.
"We apologise to our supporters for the inconvenience. Anyone who has already purchased a ticket for the match, but who might now have difficulty in attending, should contact the ticket office."

16th January 2006

Miller Update

Kenny Miller's agent has said the striker would be interested in a move to Celtic, even though it would mean crossing the Old Firm divide.
The SPL leaders are reported to have joined a host of Premiership clubs in the race for the player's signature.
Miller left Rangers four years ago and would be the first player since Maurice Johnston to play for both halves of the Old Firm.

His agent David Baldwin told the Daily Record: "Kenny is flattered by Celtic's interest. He and I will need to talk about that even further.
"If Kenny came back to Scotland, Celtic would be of massive interest to him. They are top of the league and that means a shot at the Champions League.
"What player doesn't want to play at that level?
"There are a lot of clubs interested in Kenny. However, it's nice to know Celtic recognise what he has done for club and country this season."

Transfer News

Wolves striker Vio Ganea could leave Molineux before the end of the month but wants to stay in English football.
The 32 year old Romania international, will be out of contract in the summer and according to his agent there is interest from Leeds, Cardiff and Coventry.
Agent Gary Williams said: "Ganea will leave Wolverhampton at the end of the month, moving on to Leeds United, Cardiff or Coventry.
"Wolves don't want to extend his contract which expires in July. The player say he wants to remain in England, because his family have settled very well here."

Colin Cameron also looks set to leave Wolves after the club informed him that he could leave Molineux.
Wolves are looking to trim their squad and are willing to let Cameron exit Molineux on a free transfer.
Glenn Hoddle has told Cameron they will not stand in his way if he can find a new club during this month's transfer window.
The player's agent Jim McArthur revealed Wolves had handed Cameron a free transfer and that a number of clubs are keen on his signature.
"Glenn Hoddle informed myself and Colin that he can leave the club," McArthur told skysports.com.
"They are willing to let him leave on a free transfer if he can find himself another club this month.
"If not, Colin will continue to fight for his place at Molineux.
"There are number of Championship clubs and some Scottish sides who are interested in Colin."
Former Wolves boss Dave Jones is thought to be leading the chase to sign Cameron, as he would like to be reunited with him at Cardiff City.

Another Wolves player to be told to look for pastures new by Hoddle is goalkeeper Paul Jones.
The 38-year-old has not played for Wolves since September 2004 and has spent time on loan at Millwall.
With Michael Oakes and Stefan Postma ahead in the custodial pecking order, Hoddle has allowed the Wales international to find a new club during this month's transfer window.
"I've spoken to Paul and we both agreed he needs to get out and play football," admitted the former England manager.
"His contract's up at the end of the season and there have been inquiries for him."

14th January 2006

Match Reaction

Wolves boss Glenn Hoddle was delighted with the win that keeps up his side's chase for a play-off place.
He said: "We've played enough good football this year and not had our just rewards.
"If we're going to go on a run we have to win matches like that sometimes."
He had praise for the tireless Ince, who he admitted considering taking off after asking him to come out for the second half all guns blazing.
He said: "I said we want to see the Paul Ince of West Ham years and Manchester United years and if we have to carry him off at the end so be it. He was puffing a bit but was still surging and I thought we can't take him off."
He was reluctant to be drawn on Newell's predicament, claiming he would be unable to offer more high-profile assistance because he had never encountered the issue, even in conversation with other managers.
"I think that's for Mike to explain," he said. "I think the only people that can help him are the people who have experienced something.
"From the day I was Swindon manager to today, I've never come across it."

Moxey Explains McLeod Situation

Chief executive Jez Moxey has released a statement to clarify Wolves position regarding MK Dons striker Izale McLeod.
Wolves made three bids for the player before the transfer window opened, all of which were turned down. Then Wolves brought in Denes Rosa and Stefan Postma when the window opened and are also now targeting a striker other than McLeod.
But, 11 days ago, MK Dons came back to Wolves and said that they would accept the third offer, having initially said they wanted more.

So Jez explained on WOW: "We made two improved offers to MK Dons, both of which were turned down, and since then we've moved on to other business.
"It's unfortunate, and I feel sorry for the player because we wanted to sign Izale and remain interested in him, but you have to draw the line somewhere and we did just that.
"When Dons chairman Pete Winkelman came back to me to say he would now accept our last offer, and gave us permission to speak to the player about personal terms, I said we would have to wait until we knew the outcome of the other negotiations that we had commenced.
"Had our final offer been accepted when it was made, Izale McLeod would probably be a Wolves player now.
"We will continue to monitor his progress."

So I hope you understand now because I don't!!

Fixture Update

Stoke have agreed to Wolves request to move the match which was originally scheduled for Tuesday 31st January to Wednesday 1st February, kick-off 7.45pm.
Wolves officials asked for the change because of the FA Cup fourth round tie against Burton or Man Utd is to be shown live on Sky and so moved to from Saturday 28th January to Sunday 29th January.
Any problems contact the ticket office on 0870 442 0123.

Team News

Wolves: boss Glenn Hoddle is pessimistic about the chances of left-back Lee Naylor (knee) regaining fitness in time for the game.
Jody Craddock is back from a calf injury, but striker George Ndah (knee) will miss out again.

Luton: have doubts over midfielder Steve Robinson (knee) and defender Markus Heikkinen for the game.
Leon Barnett could come in for centre-back Heikkinen who is still recovering from a knock.

11th January 2006

Transfer Update

Wolves have had a bid of around £1.4million accepted by MK Dons for striker Izale McLeod.
Glenn Hoddle has finally been given the green light to open negotiations with the 21-year-old, having had two previous bids turned down.
Dons chairman Pete Winkleman confirmed: "We've agreed a deal."
The League One club are likely to receive around £600,000 up front with a further £800,000 dependant on appearances, although the player's former team Derby will get a percentage as part of their sell-on clause.
McLeod has scored 29 goals in 71 starts for the Dons since signing for £150,000 from the Rams in summer 2004.

Wolves have accepted an undisclosed fee from Notts Forest for Sammy Clingan.
The midfielder has spent a period on loan at Chesterfield but will now be travelling to the City Ground to discuss personal terms.
The Northern Ireland under 21 international, who has not yet played a first team game for Wolves, would be out of contract at Molineux this summer.

Reserves Win

Carl Cort continued his return to form with his second reserve goal in a week, Wolves reserves beat West Brom reserves 3-0 yesterday.

Wolves took the lead after 51 minutes, Ganea won possession from Humphrey wide on the right and fed Ricketts whose low cross was bundled in by Cort.
The second goal came on the hour, another cross from Rickett's hit Dyer's head and flew past Hoult.
Wolves third came from a penalty in the 75th minute. Ricketts crossed again for Cort to head down to Ganea who hit a first time volley that drew a brilliant reflex save from Hoult.
But the keeper's good work was undone when Lee Baker handled in trying to clear and Ganea easily converted the spot kick.

West Brom Reserves: Hoult, Darg, Dyer, Davies, Hodgkiss, Baker, Smikle, Pringle, Elvins, S. Nicholson (D. Nicolson 81), Humphrey (McGovern 58).
Unused Subs: Daniels, Downing, McMenamin.

9th January 2006

Wolves Linked With Mellor

Wolves boss Glenn Hoddle has turned his attention to Liverpool striker Neil Mellor after missing out on MK Dons striker Izale McLeod.
They dropped their interest McLeod after having a £600,000 bid turned down and reports suggest they are now chasing Mellor.
Hoddle has around £2million to spend to strengthen his side's promotion push and has made signing a striker a priority.
Mellor has been tracked by a number of Championship sides including Sheff Utd and Stoke and is rated in the £1million bracket by Liverpool.
He has made 21 first-team appearances for the Reds, scoring six goals in the process. But he was forced to undergo surgery on both knees last March and has not been able to get back into the Premiership side since.

FA Cup Draw

Wolves have drawn either Burton or Man Utd at Molineux in the fourth round of the FA Cup, the match will be played on 28th or 29th January.

8th January 2006

Match Reaction

Wolves boss Glenn Hoddle was more than happy to see his side's name go into the hat and hailed the role of returning captain Paul Ince, who made his first start since tearing a thigh muscle in August.
Leon Clarke's first goal since August clinched Wolves' place in the fourth round of the FA Cup at the expense of Plymouth.
Clarke struck in the 26th minute to seal the win for Wolves in what was an otherwise tepid cup tie.

Hoddle said: "There are quite a few clubs who would love to swap places with us so I am delighted with the result and pleased with the performance.
"It was good to see Paul Ince back and his presence and quality were there for all to see.
"He made a vital clearance in the last few minutes but for 75 minutes of the game I don't think Plymouth troubled us.
"But we failed to get the second goal that would have killed the tie off."

Postma Signs For Season

Goalkeeper Stefan Postma has signed for Wolves until the end of the season.
The Dutch keeper has been on loan at Molineux from Aston Villa since August. The transfer was agreed following negotiations between the two clubs and the player today, for an undisclosed fee. The short-term contract will keep Stefan at Molineux until the end of the season and will make him eligible to play in the FA Cup.
The 29-year-old arrived at Molineux on August 19 and made his debut in the Carling Cup match away at Watford the following month. He made his first League start away at Brighton in November and has remained in the side ever since, keeping six clean sheets out of his 12 League appearances.

Team News

Wolves: striker Carl Cort has returned to action after two months, but is unlikely to feature when Plymouth arrive at Molineux.
The former Newcastle forward completed 45 minutes of a reserve game against his former club this week but is short of match fitness following his knee operation and subsequent lay-off.
Defender Lee Naylor is hoping to return to the side after missing the last two games with a patella injury.
Young midfielder Mark Davies is in contention for a place in the squad after recovering from a hernia problem and coming through two reserve games unscathed.

Plymouth: welcome David Norris back from suspension for their FA Cup third round tie against their Championship rivals.
Midfielder Norris scored in the 1-1 league draw at Molineux last Saturday but was forced to miss Argyle's 3-0 home defeat by Leeds on Monday.
Hasney Aljofree is expected to return as West Ham do not want on-loan centre-back Elliott Ward cup-tied.
Midfielder Jason Jarrett returned to full-time employers Norwich following the Leeds clash, which striker Nick Chadwick (hamstring) missed through injury.
The Pilgrims are sweating on the fitness of Chadwick, who is expected to be ruled out, and playmaker Akos Buzsaky (abdomen).

Miller Offer

Wolves have confirmed they received a bid from Sheffield United for Kenny Miller, but Miller turned them down.
The offer was £1.5million for the Scottish international striker, whose current Molineux contract will expire in the summer.
Jez Moxey said on WOW: "We have received a bid of £1.5m from Sheffield United but Kenny told us he was not interested in a move to Bramall Lane.
"We told Sheffield United that we would consider their bid, although it was unlikely to be accepted, but before we started negotiating we agreed we'd ask Kenny for his thoughts - he said no and so the matter went no further."

Transfer Update

Wolves look set to sign Poland international striker Tomasz Frankowski.
The 31-year-old currently plays for Elche in Spain's Segunda Division and is sure to be a key member of his country's World Cup squad after scoring nine goals in 15 internationals, including in their 2-1 defeat to England at Old Trafford last October.
Molineux boss Glenn Hoddle is thought to have agreed a deal with Elche for Frankowski, as he looks to boost the clubs promotion chances.
The striker admitted the offer he has received from Molineux appeals to him.
"The deal I've been offered suits me," Frankowski said. "I can't reveal the figures, but it's 20 percent more than I'm earning in Spain.
"I've spoken with Glenn Hoddle and he told me I am what the team need to help them get promoted."

Wolves have extended the loan of Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone and are hoping to make the loan until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old's initial loan spell expired after his appearance against Coventry, but the extended deal will now end on 21st January, although he will not be allowed to play in the FA Cup game against Plymouth and the Premiership side will not be able to recall him until after that date.
Meanwhile, Hoddle remains in talks with White Hart Lane boss Martin Jol about keeping Huddlestone at Molineux until the end of the season.

Dundee United chairman Eddie Thompson has revealed Celtic, Wolves and Leeds are in the hunt for defender Mark Wilson, then slapped a £500,000 minimum fee on the 21-year-old full-back.
Celtic have been linked with the Scotland Under-21s star in the past, and the Tannadice chief has now reported the two English clubs have joined the race.
Thompson told the Scottish Daily Express: "As far as I'm concerned, if anyone came in with less than £500,000, I wouldn't even bother looking at it - whether it's from Wolves, Leeds or Celtic.

Goalkeeper Paul Harrison's has earned a three-week contract extension, due to expire on Tuesday, January 24, after initially arriving on a short-term basis.

Reserves Lose

Wolves reserves lost 2-1 against Newcastle reserves yesterday at Kingston Park, the home of the city's rugby union club.

In the 5th minute Wolves took the lead, Daniel Jones took a corner and Carl Cort ran in unchallenged to power a header past the keeper.
Newcastle pulled level midway through the half following a right-wing cross from Brittain. Michael Chopra rose to head against the bar and Carl Finnigan's follow up header beat  keeper Paul Harrison.
With 12 minutes left, substitute Daryl Smylie grabbed what proved to be the winning goal for Newcastle. He took a touch in controlling Matthew Pattison's squared pass before hitting a low shot into the corner of the net.

Transfer News

Wolves boss Glenn Hoddle has admitted his bid for MK Dons striker Izale McLeod is in the balance, but is also keen to sign an experienced goalscorer.
Hoddle wants to bolster his strikeforce during the January transfer window and said: "Izale is 20 and we need someone who can make a difference now.
"Izale is as much a player for the future as he is one for now.
"We have offered MK Dons £600,000 but until they get realistic about his value any move is on the back burner."
Hoddle, who has confirmed he has a transfer kitty of £2m to spend this month, is also hopeful that Tottenham will allow Tom Huddlestone to remain on loan at Molineux until the end of the season.
He added: "We are going to talk to Spurs and hope they will let him stay.
"They might do that with a 24 hour recall in case they get injuries. We will speak to them on Tuesday."

Match Reaction

Wolves boss Glenn Hoddle raged: "I thought it was traditional to give out your presents on Christmas Day, not New Year Bank Holiday.
"It was two own goals which cost us the game and they were both conceded from set-pieces, which is something I thought we'd ironed out.
"It doesn't matter how well you play, if you give away goals like that you make it impossible for yourself.
"Until we get more clinical in the final third then we'll continue to underachieve and we've now reached the point where players are going to have to take a look at themselves and start performing."

Team News

Coventry: Michael Doyle is back in the squad for the match with Wolves.
Doyle was forced to sit out the 3-1 defeat to Preston after his red card in the game with Crewe.
Richard Duffy could also return after missing the trip to Deepdale after suffering a broken nose against Alex, while Stern John is pushing for a start in attack after scoring City's second-half consolation goal against North End.
Kevin Thornton is a doubt after limping out of the game with Preston, while Stuart Giddings (knee), Stephen Hughes (Achilles) and Neil Wood (knee) are all out.
But there is good news for boss Micky Adams after Marcus Hall, who had been struggling with a calf injury, played 45 minutes at Preston.

Wolves: Rob Edwards could return to the side when they make the short trip down the M6.
Edwards was rested for the 1-1 draw with Plymouth on New Year's Eve, but boss Glenn Hoddle may elect to restore the former Aston Villa man to the starting line-up.
Lee Naylor could return after a patella problem, while Gabor Gyepes (ankle) and Mark Kennedy (calf) both shook off their injuries in time to face Argyle.
Mark Davies is back in contention after a hernia problem, but long term victims George Ndah (medial knee ligament) and Mark Clyde (hip) are both out, and new signing Denes Rosa is ineligible.

Clarke Furious

Wolves young striker Leon Clarke has reacted furiously to rumours suggesting that he was seen drinking in Wolverhampton city centre on Friday evening.
The rumours were circulated outside Molineux on Saturday before the match with Plymouth Argyle by individual fans and repeated to members of staff. After the game it is believed there was a reference of the alleged 'sighting' on a local radio station phone-in and it was discussed on a fans website message board (not 'The Wolves' Site Forum!!).
When Clarke heard of the rumours he reported the matter to boss Glenn Hoddle and told him that he had an early meal in a Birmingham restaurant on Friday and had gone straight home and that he had not had anything to drink or been in to Wolverhampton city centre.

Hoddle said on WOW: "Leon has been to see me to explain what has been said, where he was on Friday and who he was with. We fully support him and are disappointed that such stories have been aired publicly."

Match Reaction

Hoddle said after the match: "I'm sick and tired of saying we played good football. It feels like we have lost.
"Until we start putting teams to the sword, we're going to under-achieve.
"We've proved we aren't clinical enough and I'm looking to bring in somebody up front.
"Not that it is easy to bring in the quality that will make a difference with about £2m - and that includes wages."
