Colchester: are hopeful defenders Chris Coyne and John White will be fit after head and elbow injuries respectively.
Kevin Lisbie should start after an ankle injury and Teddy Sheringham has trained all week, but Mark Yeates and Pat Baldwin are on the sidelines.

Matt Jarvis (hip) could play, while George Elokobi returns to Layer Road a month on from his move to Molineux.

Kightly Injury Update

Michael Kightly is to have surgery on his ankle tomorrow after he has suffered recurring problems since limping out of the game at West Brom in November
The 22-year-old will have a small boney spur removed at a London hospital in the morning, and is hoping he can be back in action before the end of the season - especially if Wolves make the play-offs.

He said on WOW: "It's very hard to take.
"But I'm trying to look at positives and the fact that I could be back at the end of season. If we make the play-offs that would be an incentive for me.
"I just want it sorted and if an operation's going to do the trick it then that's what I need to do.
"I've been just watching the lads for the last three months and to not be involved has been a killer.
"I've had some nice letters from the fans saying how much I'm missed, and I'm grateful to them for that, but it makes me feel even more gutted that I can't do my bit."

Potter Wants To Stay

Wolves midfielder Darren Potter turned down the chance to leave Molineux in January, instead staying to fight for a first team place.
The 23-year-old former Liverpool reserve, a regular for most of last season and a big part of Wolves revival over the second half of the season, lost his place at the end of August.
But, having since been used as a bench player, he has started Wolves' last two games.

Bennett Loan Extended

Wolves winger Elliott Bennett has had his loan spell with League Two side Bury extended until 5th April.
The 19-year-old joined the Alan Knill's side earlier this month and his existing loan spell was due to expire next week.
However, after impressing during his seven games so far Bury have decided to extend the deal.
Bennett signed professional terms with Wolves in the summer and made two appearances in the League Cup before a two-month loan spell with Crewe.

25th February 2008

Hennessey Update

Wolves will have keeper Wayne Hennessey assessed to see whether he is fit to face Colchester on Saturday.
He was taken off at Crystal Palace with mild concussion late on and may not make the weekend.
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy told BBC WM: "We'll have to go very carefully with him. If he's been knocked out it might be impossible for him to be involved.
"If you're concussed you can't do anything for two weeks but we'll see. We'll get the opinion of the doctors."

24th February 2008

Match Reaction

Boss Mick McCarthy is refusing to talk-up his team's chances of making the play-off places.
He said afterwards: "I did not even look at the table. I am not bothered where we are. We keep dashing our hopes by talking it up and then blowing it. We will just have to see where we are come the end of the season.
"I am pleased Kevin scored that goal, though. I did not expect him to come here and hit 30-yard volleys over his shoulder and into the bottom corner.
"That goal shows he has got ability and I am thrilled for him. It means so much for players to do well and that will help him."

19th February 2008

Match Off

Wolves game with Scunthorpe was called off by referee Mark Haywood at 5.40pm, despite a valiant effort by the groundstaff.
Two huge generators and six industrial fans and heaters were brought in to the ground to try and thaw out the affected area of playing surface, but the pitch was still deemed to be unplayable.
The fixture joins several other Tuesday night games that have been postponed because of the weather.

Team News

Scunthorpe: striker Geoff Horsfield hopes to shake off a hamstring strain, manager Nigel Adkins will still be without defender Cliff Byrne, who recently took a knock to the same leg he fractured in November, while Grant McCann sits out the last match of a three-game ban.
Adkins has no other new injury or suspension problems as his rock-bottom side chase a fourth away win of the season.

Wolves: manager Mick McCarthy is likely to make changes to his side.
Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, George Elokobi, David Edwards and Daniel Jones were all cup-tied for Saturday's FA Cup defeat at Cardiff, but come back into contention.
Winger Matt Jarvis returned to training on Monday after missing the trip to Ninian Park with a hip problem so could be involved.
Fellow wide-man Michael Kightly (ankle), Stephen Ward (knee) and Neill Collins (ankle) will all again be missing from action.

17th February 2008

Match Reaction

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy conceded his side had come up against a class act but felt Hasselbaink had been given a helping hand by his side's abject defending.
"He played very well, he's a good player. But I think he was seriously aided by the fact we were 2-0 down after 11 minutes," he said.
"I guess we're trying to chase it and he can find holes. He's very clever. He's been an excellent player and it was a good performance."
Wolves may have won 3-2 in the league at Ninian Park earlier this season but the chances of a repeat scoreline looked remote as their defensive deficiencies were exposed right from the whistle.
"We've started games dreadfully," McCarthy added.
"It made things very difficult. The second goal was a fabulous finish I have to say, but we were in good possession and we gave it away and got done again."
The following support grew restless in the second half as Wanderers struggled to create chances despite dominating possession - and McCarthy admitted his side got what they deserved.
He added: "We never really scratched the surface, we were hopeless. That was as bad a performance as we have had in a long time."

Cardiff: will be without winger Joe Ledley (hamstring) and defender Glenn Loovens (suspension).
Trevor Sinclair and Riccardo Scimeca are fit again and could figure.

Wolves: have Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, George Elokobi, Dave Edwards and Dan Jones all cup-tied as they have played for former teams in the competition.

Freddy Finding It Hard

Wolves striker Freddy Eastwood admits he has found life hard at Molineux since his £1.5m move from Southend last summer.
Eastwood told the BBC's Sport Wales programme he is unhappy at being left out of the side by boss Mick McCarthy.
"When I first arrived I was scoring but he said I wasn't working hard enough so he took me out of the side," he said.
"Then when I was working hard enough I wasn't scoring. I'm in and out of the side, not used to it and not happy."

But Eastwood, who scored 65 league and cup goals for Southend during his three years there, is determined to add to his tally of 10 games and four goals with Wolves.
"I want to be in the team week in, week out," he said. "That's what I came here for and that's what I want to do.
"Hopefully I can get back into the side and I want to try and finish the season with a bang.
"At the clubs I've been at before, I probably wouldn't do anything for 70 or 80 minutes but then pop up with a goal late on.
"I feel I haven't really had the chance to do that here yet.
"After 70 or 80 minutes here, if you start a game, the gaffer will normally make a change.
"If I can just get 90 minutes here week in, week out, I think I will produce like I was in the past."

13th February 2008

Match Reaction

Mick McCarthy insists he is unconcerned by Wolves' league position despite losing further ground in the play-off race with a 0-0 draw at Blackpool.
Wolves conceded seven goals in losing their last two matches and they failed to get their promotion hopes back on track in a dismal encounter at Bloomfield Road
Blackpool's Gary Taylor-Fletcher hit the crossbar midway through the second half while Sylvan Ebanks-Blake hit a post for Wolves just a minute later and although the visitors looked the likeliest winners, they did not do enough to warrant the three points.
Wolves remain 12th and are now four points adrift of the top six, but McCarthy refuses to pay attention to the league table with 14 matches remaining.
"I've not even looked. I'm not bothered at the moment because it will matter come the end of April and beginning of May, so we'll see where we are then," he said.
"I get a bit tired of everybody reminding us of this position, that position and three points, two points or five points.
"At the moment, this is a good point for us. Bearing in mind we've just conceded seven goals in two games, it was important that we stopped the rot."

Although Wolves failed to find a breakthrough in a match of few chances, McCarthy was pleased with his side's performance and felt it marked progress on their recent defeat by Watford and Stoke.
"It was a clean sheet and I think we needed that," he said.
"There weren't too many goalmouth incidents but I think we had a few more than they hit.
"There will be some who argue that we should come here and win but I don't subscribe to that because I think Blackpool are a decent side.
"Although we had a few chances, I'll take the goalless draw and I'll take the point."

10th February 2008

Match Reaction

Mick McCarthy claimed Wolves should have been given two penalties as their promotion push went off the rails against in-form Stoke at Molineux.
The Potters won 4-2 and, with one defeat in15 games, they look like candidates for automatic promotion.
McCarthy claimed referee Andre Marriner prevented Wolves from taking a share of the points - if not all three - by not giving Rob Edwards a penalty in the dying minutes and not awarding Andy Keogh a spot-kick halfway through the second half.
"The last one was a stonewall penalty and the Andy Keogh one was one - I've watched it again," said the former Sunderland manager.
Wolves came back from going behind to Rory Delap's header in the fourth minute before goals either side of half-time from Rob Edwards and Andy Keogh swung the game in Wanderers' favour.
But Liam Lawrence soon restored parity before goals from Leon Cort and Ricardo Fuller left Stoke in fourth place, just two points behind new leaders Watford.
According to McCarthy, Wolves should have protected their lead in the second half.
"We came in at half-time deservedly level. When we went 2-1 up we went a bit gung ho," he said.
"We played good football and created chances - we will have to defend better.
"We did have one of the best defensive records in the league - that's gone now."

Wolves: boss Mick McCarthy may give a debut to new signing George Elokobi in the home fixture with Stoke.
Wolves again miss Michael Kightly, who is still troubled by an ankle problem, while Seyi Olofinjana has not yet returned from the Africa Nations Cup.

Stoke: Andy Griffin and Richard Cresswell miss out through suspension.
Midfielder Salif Diao is expected to continue in the starting line-up but defender Andy Wilkinson remains on the sidelines with a hernia problem.

Under-21 At Molineux

Molineux will host an England Under-21 international for the third time next month.
Poland are the visitors to Wolverhampton for a friendly with Stuart Pearce's side on Tuesday 25th March.
And it is an incentive for Wolves Under-21 winger Michael Kightly to recover in time from his ankle injury.
Poland were also the visitors the last time Molineux hosted the Under-21s back in October 1996 when the kick-off was delayed until 10pm due to a bomb scare.

Fixture Update

Wolves League match against Scunthorpe at Molineux has been rescheduled.
The game was originally due to take place on Saturday 16th February, but was postponed because Wolves face Cardiff in the FA Cup fifth round on that date.
It will now be played three days later on Tuesday 19th February, with kick-off at 7.45pm.

Also the League match between Wolves and Cardiff which was due to take place at Molineux on Saturday 5th April has been moved to a 1pm kick-off on Sunday 6th April at the request of police.

Early Bird Freeze

Nearly 18,000 Wolves season ticket holders prices have been frozen for a fourth consecutive year under the 'Early Bird' incentive scheme.
The scheme offers existing season ticket holders the chance to renew their seat for next season, before a deadline of Friday 14th March, at a price that is much lower than the summer price.
Next season's individual Championship match ticket prices for juniors (under 12 and under 17) will also be frozen but there will be a small increase of £1 on adult and senior tickets.
The club has opted for the Early Bird price freeze policy, even though many members of the Fans Parliament had supported an increase in price this year.
Adult season ticket holders who buy before the deadline of Friday 14 March will pay the same as they would have done if they had bought an Early Bird 12, 24 or even 36 months ago.

Travel Details Announced

Wolves fans wanting to travel to the FA Cup fifth round game at Cardiff City have been told by South Wales Police they will have to use organised transport.
Supporters will not be allowed to buy tickets if they wish to travel in their own car, or by bus and train.
The club has reacted angrily to what they describe as the "unnecessary, unjustified and disproportionate" restrictions that have been imposed by the police and the Safety Advisory Group which is responsible for Ninian Park and matches played at Cardiff City.
It has now been confirmed that the game will take place on Saturday February 16 with a 3pm kick-off. Wolves have an allocation of 2,000 tickets priced at £23 seats, £22 terrace and £15 for all concessions.

FA Cup Update

Wolves FA Cup fifth round game at Cardiff has this afternoon been confirmed as taking place on Saturday 16th February with a 3pm kick-off.
Full ticket details will be announced tomorrow lunchtime as ticketing matters for the tie have been the subject of protracted discussions between the clubs and also involved extensive dialogue with the South Wales Police.
This has resulted in a delay in announcing the full arrangements.

3rd February 2008

Match Reaction

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy admitted that his side's first-half performance after the early setback was pleasing but was ultimately left to rue poor defending from set-pieces.
He said: "We had an awful start. To be 1-0 down in the first minute is dreadful but our reaction to that was terrific.
"We played excellently in the first half and perhaps should have got back into it.
"The second half wasn't going anywhere until we conceded from a corner and then it was a done deal.
"They defended particularly well but we struggled to pick the right pass at the right times in the final third.
"After the second goal they deserved to win and it's the last 25 minutes of the game which have cost us.
"We had a lot of players who didn't perform and there was an element of payback and revenge from the 4-1."

Watford: John Eustace, Leigh Bromby and Collins John are all in contention to make their debuts against Wolves.
Striker Darius Henderson is expected to return to the squad after suffering a knock, as is midfielder Damien Francis following a knee injury.

Wolves: Striker Kevin Kyle and defender George Elokobi could make their debuts.
Winger Michael Kightly misses out as he awaits the results of a scan on his ankle but striker Freddy Eastwood (hand injury) should be available to return.
