Transfer News
Dave Jones is hoping to hear from Paul Ince and Paul Butler some time
this week to learn whether they have decided to stay with Wolves.
Ince has been offered a new deal but will talk with his family before
making a decision. But Butler wants a two-year contract and has only been offered
terms on a one-year deal, and that could mean him leaving Molineux.
Both players have been on holiday since the season ended - but Jones
wants to hear from them before he flies off to Portugal to watch the
European Championships.
George Ndah has also been offered new terms - but he may
reject the pay-as-you-play deal, opening the door for a move to
Nottingham Forest.

Wolves boss Dave Jones is on the brink of completing his first summer signing Leeds defender Michael Duberry.
A fee of around £800,000 has been agreed for the defender, now Wolves just
need to finalise personal terms with the player.
Duberry has been offered a lucrative two-year deal at Molineux, and
Jones is hoping he will form a solid central defensive partnership with Paul Butler.
But Butler's future at Molineux has not yet been resolved as he wants a
two-year deal and has only been offered a one-year contract

Melligan Wanted On Loan
Kidderminster manager Jan Molby

season.

Molineux after spending most of last season on loan at Third Division
champions Doncaster.

Wolves Want Duberry
Wolves boss Dave Jones is confident he'll
sign Leeds defender Michael
Duberry inside the next two weeks.
Jones sees centre-half Duberry as a key figure as Wolves attempt to
return to the top flight at the first attempt and is understood to have
agreed a fee of around £800,000.
The 28-year-old, joined Leeds in July 1999 for £4.5m from Chelsea, he made 22 appearances last season scoring three goals.
New Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell is trying to cut the Leeds wage bill and is thought to be keen to allow Duberry to
leave.

from them for Nigerian international, Seyi Olofinjana. The 23-year-old is currently with Norwegian top-flight side, SK Brann,

true.
"I’m not sure where this has come from as we have not made a bid."</P><P>
Nottingham Forest are reported to be wanting to sign Wolves injury plagued
striker George Ndah, who was sidelined for the whole of last season after twice undergoing surgery on a niggling knee injury.
Wolves are ready to offer the forward a new contract, based on a pay-as-you-play basis due to his injury problems.
But Forest have expressed an interest in luring Ndah to The City Ground as Joe Kinnear prepares for next season's Division One campaign.
Molineux boss Dave Jones is keen to hang on to Ndah as he was a star player when Wolves won promotion to the
Premiership.

Ganea Offered New Deal
Romanian striker Vio Ganea is
reported to have been offered a new two-year deal to stay with Wolves - but his agent claims Norwich and Charlton are chasing his signature.
Wolves are keen to hang on to him for next season's Division One campaign.
Ganea spent much of last season at Molineux on the bench, with Cort, Camara and Miller preferred ahead of him in the striking pecking order.
Wolves boss Dave Jones is hoping the fact that Ganea and his family are settled in the Black Country swings the pendulum his way.
But if he cannot guarantee him a starting place for next season's promotion bid, Ganea may choose to move on.
Cameron Out Of International
Midfielder Colin Cameron has withdrawn from the Scotland squad that was due to play Estonia on Thursday and Trinidad and Tobago
on Sunday, because he's suffering from an ankle injury.
Wolves physio Barry Holmes explained on WOW: “Colin injured his ankle in the last match of the season.
"Scans have shown that he has strained tendons.
“We believe the best course of treatment is rest and Colin will see a specialist in Oswestry tomorrow to confirm this.
“Unfortunately this means he has had to withdraw from the Scotland squad.”

More Camara Speculation
Henri Camara's agent Willie McKay was this morning reported as saying: “There are a few clubs interested in Henri. Bolton are very keen and have made an offer for him. But Wolves’ valuation of Henri and his own valuation of himself are completely different."
But Jez Moxey denied Wolves have received a bid from Bolton and said on WOW: “This is not the case. We had an enquiry from Bolton’s secretary last week asking what our plans for Henri were. He did not make an offer.
“We have not put a valuation on Henri because he is not for sale. We have not received any offers and are not interested in receiving any.”
26-year-old Camara, who has had a transfer request firmly rejected by
Wolves, is also reported to have attracted the interest of Blackburn and Middlesbrough.

Gudjonsson Wants To Stay
Despite a lack of first-team opportunities at Molineux this
season Iceland international Joey Gudjonsson would like to make his loan move to Wolves permanent.
He is currently on the books of Spanish side Real Betis, but is happy in the Midlands and feels he can do a job in the First Division.
He told the Sunday Mercury: "As far as I'm concerned, Wolves want me to come back and play for them next season.
"When I left to go on holiday, the manager told me that he wanted willing and hardworking players in his squad for next season. And I would be happy to return as my family and I are settled in the Midlands.
"I have strong links with England now."

Molineux.
Camara said: "If I said I
wanted to leave Wolves, I'd be lying. My heart is here, I love playing
here, but I came over to play in the Premiership.
"If Wolves had stayed up and Manchester United had come in for me, I
wouldn't have even looked at it."
Chief Executive Jez Moxey
added: "Willie McKay has been trying to find a Premier League club
for him against our wishes.
"We explained our position and reiterated our determination to keep

New Player Search
Wolves boss Dave Jones is aiming to add a number of top continental stars to
the Wolves line-up in the next month.
He's been abroad on a string of scouting missions in recent weeks and he has seen the men he wants to help him get the club back in Premiership football.
As usual Jones is giving away no details about his transfer targets but the bulk of his summer signings will be foreigners.
The manager is still hoping Paul Ince, Paul Butler, Vio Ganea and George Ndah
decide to stay at Molineux after coming to the end of their contracts.
And, after losing six men from his squad including Nigeria international Isaac Okoronkwo and striker Steffen Iversen, he is also interested in giving a new deal to Joey Gudjonsson who has gone back to Real Betis.
"If I can persuade the four men to re-sign for the club, I still want to bring in three or four new faces," said Jones.
"If they don't want to stay, I'll add a couple of other new names to my shopping list."

Clear Out Begins
Five Wolves players who's contracts run out this summer are not being offered new deals by the club,
and negotiations will take place with five other players.
Midfielder
Alex Rae is expected to join Glasgow Rangers, after spending three seasons
at Molineux becoming a fans favourate.
Striker Nathan Blake has been at Molineux
for three years, but he made just 14 Premiership appearances last season
only scoring one goal, against Newcastle back in November.
Since shortly after the New Year he has been sidelined because of a neck condition.
Defender Isaac Okoronkwo who was
signed last summer, didn’t get a chance in the first team until the away fixture at
Manchester City in April. He did play in the Carling Cup tie with
Darlington earlier in the season.
Striker Steffen Iversen who was also
signed last summer, made a total of 20 appearances, six of them as a substitute, and scored four goals during the
season also Defender Oleg Luzhny made just ten appearances for the club since his move from Arsenal.
Wolves boss Dave Jones is expecting to hold talks in the near future with the representatives of George
Ndah, Paul Butler and Vio Ganea
who are all out of contract.
Joey Gudjonsson’s loan from Real Betis finishes at the end of this month but
Wolves will be looking at the options available for the Icelandic international to return next season.
And Jones will be waiting for a call from Paul Ince once the skipper has decided whether or not he is going to extend his playing career
New Kit And Sponsor
Wolves today unveiled the team’s home and away kits for the 2004/05 season. The designs were chosen by
over 2000 supporters who took part in a ballot and the winning home shirt design
recieved 73 percent of the votes and the away kit 51 percent. The kit will be manufactured by Le Coq
Sportif.
The home shirt is now available to pre-order at Wolves online Megastore. The change strip
is a dark navy blue colour with pale blue trim.
Wolves have also announced
their new official club sponsor 'Chaucer Group'. The Chaucer logo
will replace the Doritos logo on the team shirts for the next two seasons
in a deal worth up to £2million. The worldwide business consultants, who have offices in Britain, the United States, Middle and Far East, have participated in a variety of sponsorship opportunities at Wolves over the past two years. Global chief executive Bob Laslett believes now is a good time to upgrade to become the club’s main sponsor.
In addition to exposure on the team’s shirts, the Chaucer logo will appear around the stadium and on club literature.
Mr Laslett, a life-long Wolves fan,
said on WOW: "At Chaucer we are successful because we build strong relationships with our customers, which enables us to provide a top quality consulting service. We look forward to an equally successful relationship with Wolves."
Part of the sponsorship package includes £100,000 worth of consultancy services from Chaucer for a variety of Wolves’ business units, including IT, sales and marketing and company finance.
Wolves’ chief executive Jez Moxey
added: "I am delighted to welcome Chaucer as our new main club sponsor. We have worked with Bob Laslett and his team for two years now and look forward to developing our relationship further.
"This is the closest commercial association we have, and we hope the partnership will help raise the brand profile of Chaucer in their continuing drive to be more and more successful as a business to business international management consultancy provider. In return, the club will receive a significant injection of cash and have the opportunity to tap into Chaucer’s professional resources to help make Wolves a more profitable and robust business."

Ince Gone To Think About Future
Wolves veteran Paul Ince has gone away for his summer break to contemplate his future in football.
Ince left Molineux on Saturday saying he’d didn’t want to end his career on a ‘sour note’ after getting sent off in Wolves last game of the season. He was given a yellow card for diving after 28 minutes and then followed it up with a second yellow card for a trip on his old pal, Jamie Redknapp.
He said on WOW:
"Once I’d got the first yellow card then I guess he (referee) was always watching me.
"But that booking was for diving and if there’s one thing I’m not, it’s a diver.
"Then the sending off was just crazy. It sees the season end on a sour note and it’s just not warranted.
"I guess he can now say that he’s sent Paul Ince off so he had a good day."
Paul and Redknapp soon put the events of the game aside after the final whistle and the Guvnor says there were no hard feelings.
"I wouldn’t let a referee’s decision affect our friendship," says Paul.
"We have been mates for years, he is godfather to my daughter and there was nothing to make up over.
"We just laughed it off there and then so to get sent off was disappointing, that’s what I was trying to say. It’s the last game of the season and you’d have thought the ref could have shown just a bit of common sense and let it go but he didn’t.
"At the end of the day neither team had anything to fight for and, to be honest, the ref won the game."
He went on to say about the decision he has to make over the summer.
"The wife makes all the decisions so I guess I’ll go away and talk to her, enjoy the summer and see what I feel is the best thing for me to do.
"There was no decision to make last time after we’d secured promotion but when it’s back to the Nationwide then it could be hard to get up for, without any disrespect. But, I enjoy the game and I shall give it all some serious thought."
There was one more retirement at Molineux, Wolves longest serving member of staff, Manager’s secretary, Dot Wooldridge has bid farewell to Molineux this afternoon after 36 years with the club. Dot joined the club as a 15-year-old office junior in 1959, and worked with the legendry Stan Cullis. She has seen fifteen manager’s in the years that have followed, Dot
has only spent time away from the club to bring up her two boys, Mark and Sean. She returned to Wolves in 1973 and has been with the club ever since.
Dot joined the team on the pitch for a lap of honour following Saturday’s final game of the
season.

Match Reaction
Boss Dave Jones put Wolves 2-0 defeat down the same failings that have dogged Wolves all season. He said: "It's been our downfall all along - giving quality players a shot on goal. You can't give gifts away like that. We are our own worst enemy at times.
"The players couldn't give anymore but when you are on top you need to finish sides off, while keeping the backdoor shut."
When asked about referee Steve Bennett's performance,
he replied: "I thought the ref showed the consistency he has done all season. You can make of that what you will."
Dave Jones paid tribute to Denis Irwin who retired
today and was given a standing ovation from both sets of supporters when he was substituted in the 89th minute.
Jones added: "Denis deserved the honour the fans gave him. I brought him off because I didn't want his final moments to get lost in everything else that was going on.
"Denis is a great credit to himself and the game. I have worked with some top pros in my time and he is right up there."
Irwin's Farewell from
WOW
Denis Irwin left Molineux this evening admitting his final match before retirement had been an emotional occasion.
The defender, having played over 900 games in his illustrious career, is hanging up his boots and is set to enjoy a few months off before deciding on his next move.
“It’s been emotional today and I have to say that as I came off the pitch it finally began to sink it that that’s it,” he says.
“I have had a fantastic life in the game and I have enjoyed every minute. My only disappointment is that it has come to an end with us facing relegation.
“I feel the club is stronger now than when I first came and I am hopeful of what they can do next season.
“If they can keep hold of the key players then I think they have a good chance of going back up.”
As Denis left the field in the 89th minute of Wolves’ 2-0 defeat to Tottenham he received a standing ovation from both sets of fans and the English game’s most decorated player says he walked off knowing he has no regrets.
“I am proud of all my achievements and have enjoyed it all,” he says. “ Some people would give their right arm for just a small part of what I have had in the game and I am thankful for 22 and a half wonderful years.
“I have huge affection for this club and every one that I’ve been at," says Denis. "I’m thankful to
Leeds for giving me my first chance. I had four great years at Oldham and, obviously, my time at Man United was superb. But I have also had a truly fantastic two years with Wolves.
“I was a fan as a boy and I’ve had a great time here. I have no regrets.
“I shall definitely miss the footballing life but I don’t think it will properly sink in until the lads come back for pre-season and I’m still at home.
“But, I shall enjoy having time to spend with the family and going off on holiday before contemplating what comes next.”

Team News
Wolves: veteran Denis
Irwin is playing his last game of an illustrious career and is guaranteed
a great reception from the Wolves supporters.
Boss Dave Jones already has next season in his mind and a planned
promotion assault so he is pondering using Mark Kennedy as left back on
his 28th birthday.
The Republic of Ireland international is being considered for a change of
role although Lee Naylor is recovering from a calf injury he sustained
last weekend so the idea may be shelved for the time being.
Dean Sturridge has undergone a knee operation but hopes to be fit for
pre-season training.
Tottenham: may turn to
youth after a season of disappointment at White Hart Lane as they travel
to already-relegated Wolves.
Caretaker manager David Pleat is without defenders Stephen Carr and
Mauricio Taricco so highly-rated Stephen Kelly looks a certain starter,
while Dean Marney and Mark Yeates are also in the 18-man squad that is
travelling to the Black Country.
South African midfielder OJ Mabizela could get a chance to play but Darren
Anderton is out of the match so he has already played his last match for
the club.
Gus Poyet and Christian Ziege are included and will get a chance to say
their farewells to the Spurs fans.
Tributes For Irwin
English football's most
decorated player bows out of the game on Saturday with the praise of
managers past and present ringing in his ears.
Denis Irwin's appearance for Wolves against Tottenham at Molineux will
mark his 902nd and last league and cup appearance stretching over 22
glittering years.
Wolves boss Dave Jones called
the 38-year-old former Republic of Ireland international "a super
pro" while his former manager at Old Trafford Sir Alex Ferguson was
also quick to pay tribute.
Irwin won almost every available club honour in the game during his 12
years at Old Trafford including seven Premiership titles.
And Ferguson said:
"Denis' career has been one of absolute distinction.
"His greatest years were here and I was fortunate to get him for what
everybody would consider a steal at £625,000.
"It is great for Denis to be able to look back on the career he has
had, and he was never anything less than a fantastic professional."
Irwin has known for some time
that this season would be his last but his willingness to engage in his
club's drawn-out relegation fight was never in doubt.
The Irishman is not one for sentiment and Jones said that despite a club
presentation and the expected standing ovation, Irwin would treat the
occasion as business as usual.
Jones said: "Denis
trained on Thursday as if it was his first week of training, not his last.
"He is a super pro and if the kids and some senior players have not
picked anything up from him then they are fools to themselves.
"Denis deserves a standing ovation not just for what he has done for
Wolves, but throughout his career."

New Kit Manufacturer Announced
Wolves have announced a new
two-year sponsorship deal with Le Coq Sportif, which will be worth
approximately £1million a year to the club.
The new design of the home and away strip was chosen by supporters in a
ballot, which over 2000 fans took part in. The kits, along with Wolves new
main sponsors, will be revealed at Molineux at 12 noon on Tuesday 18th May.
Supporters are being welcomed to attend the launch at the stadium in the
Billy Wright Stand.
During the summer Wolves and Le Coq Sportif branded training kit and
leisurewear will on sale.
Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey
said on WOW: "We
are delighted to have signed this lucrative agreement with Le Coq Sportif, a
leading brand in sportswear manufacturing.
"Our retail operation generates significant income for the business. It
is therefore vital for Wolves to join forces with a company who can not only
provide significant sponsorship income but also top quality products for
sale through our various retail outlets.
"I am pleased so many of our magnificent supporters took part in the
process of our kit selection, after all, they are the people we will be
asking to buy the shirts for next season."
Kevin Batchelor, the Le Coq Sportif Football Brand Manager added: "Le
Coq Sportif is delighted to add such a prestigious club as Wolves to our
portfolio. We are indeed very proud to be able to supply the team and the
supporters with quality replica and training wear for the next two seasons.
The positive reaction to the kits by the fans was extremely encouraging and
we shall be working closely with the club in future to make sure that the
supporter’s views were included in any changes in kit design."

Transfer News
Midfielder Kevin Cooper is
keen to stay with Division 1 champions Norwich following the completion of
his loan spell at Carrow Road.
The 29-year-old has returned to Molineux where he has two years left to
run on his contract, but would like to be back with Norwich for the start
of next season in the Premiership.
He said to the Eastern Daily Press: "To be perfectly honest I don't
know whether I will play for Norwich again - but I'd certainly like to.
"As you can imagine it has been pretty hectic over the last couple
days so I haven't had a chance to discuss anything. Hopefully I'll get
that opportunity before too long, but first I really need to speak to Dave
Jones at Wolves to see how he views the situation.
"I'm a Wolves player and I've got two years left on my contract so
I've got to find out where I stand. But a permanent move to Norwich really
appeals to me, as does the chance of Premiership football. I've enjoyed
being part of it over the last couple of months - and I'd love to be part
of it again next season."
Norwich boss Nigel Worthington added: "It's a case of wait and see on
that one. A number of phone calls will be going in and we'll just have to
see what develops."
Wolves Academy youngster Ashley Vincent is to leave Wolves and join
up with former Molineux coach John Ward who is now manager at Cheltenham.
Vincent is expected to sign a two-year deal at Cheltenham within the next few days.
He has just completed his third season at Molineux having graduated through the Academy
ranks and made six appearances and scored one goal for the reserves during
this season
Wolves veteran midfielder Paul Ince says that he would be ready to play on for
another year to try and help Wolves get back into The Premiership.
The 36-year-old was due to call time on his playing career at the end
of the campaign after only just being talked into one more season in the top
flight by
Dave Jones.
Following relegation, Ince feels that he can
still do a job for Wolves in Division One and says that he is now hoping to play for yet
another season and help bring back Premiership football to Molineux next
season.
"Physically and mentally I think I could do another year,"
said Ince.

Naylor Injury Update
Wolves defender Lee Naylor is expected to return to training in the next couple of
days, he suffered a kick to the calf during Sunday's match and was
substituted midway through the first-half.
He is set to be back with the rest of the squad before the end of the week
after receiving treatment.
Physio Barry Holmes said on WOW: "Lee got a stud in the back of his calf as he made a tackle in Sunday’s
match.
"It wasn’t anything serious but it led to him suffering a dead leg and he was struggling.
"We had to make a decision whether to leave him until half-time or to take him off and he was limping
so it was decided best to take action.
"Lee’s been in for treatment this week and is shaping up fine. He’s a very fast healer and should be back in training in the next day or so."
Minute Silence For Former Legend
There will be a minute's
silence before Saturday's final game of the season against Tottenham in
memory of Wolves great Dennis Wilshaw, who died at the age of 78 at his
home in Stoke on Monday night.
The 1950s Molineux striker scored 172 goals in 378 matches for the club
and played in their famous 3-2 win over Hungarian side Honved in 1954.
He was capped 12 times by England and scored four goals against Scotland
at Wembley in 1955.

Match Reaction
Wolves boss Dave Jones said
after the match: "We have given everything and they have not let
themselves down, just unfortunately we have finished just short.
"The fans were great, to come here and still here them is just great.
"They have been up and down the country, they support the club -
sooner or later we will all leave - but they will keep coming.
"They deserved a performance and we have tried to give them that.
"There is a lot of optimism, we want to come back straight away which
won't be easy.
"I would have liked to have won a game away but it wasn't to be.
"I thought we worked out socks off and did well.
"This is the hardest division in the world to come into and I haven't
enjoyed it, I will be honest. I don't enjoy losing - but the players
picked me up throughout the season."
Keeper Paul Jones said about
the penalty save: “I’ve faced a few Alan Shearer penalties in my time.
“I think I got one back on him by saving this one.
“I’m told that I hold the record for having the most Alan Shearer penalties scored against me, but I don’t know if that’s true. If it is then I think I levelled things a little today.
“He said to me after the game that it was a good save but I think it was just one of those where I guessed right. As a goalkeeper you have a 50/50 chance of getting it and I just fancied it after what I thought had been a decent game.”
Vio Ganea has dedicated his goal to
Wolves traveling army of supporters, 3000 fans travelled up to St James Park
for Wolves last away match of the season.
Ganea said on WOW: "I am very happy with my goal and I went over to the side where the Wolves fans were after I scored because they had been
fantastic.
"They were very noisy and we played the game for them. I am so happy they saw us score against Newcastle after travelling such a long way.
"Newcastle are a very big team and they have been playing in Europe but I think after the UEFA Cup game on Thursday they were a little tired.
"They have something to play for because they want to finish in fourth position and the pressure was on them.
"We played for pride and to try and finish as high as we can. We still wanted to win the game."

Team News
Newcastle: Andy O'Brien
is out as he begins a two-match ban. The Republic of Ireland international
is sidelined after being sent off at Aston Villa, and with Jonathan
Woodgate out for the foreseeable future with a torn thigh muscle, Steve
Caldwell could come into contention following his recall from a loan spell
at Leeds.
Craig Bellamy, Kieron Dyer and Andy Griffin (all hamstring) remain on the
casualty list, as does Jermaine Jenas (thigh).
But Lee Bowyer returned as a substitute in the 2-0 Uefa Cup defeat in
Marseille on Thursday night and impressed enough to stake a genuine claim
for a start.
Wolves:
boss Dave Jones is missing four players for Sunday's Premiership trip to
Newcastle.
Defender Mark Clyde has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a
thigh strain and is joined on the sidelines by Oleg Luzhny (calf), Steffen
Iversen (Achilles) and Silas (ankle).

Pledges For Next Season
Coach
Stuart Gray is ready to pledge his future to Wolves as they begin to plan
for next season. He
is currently under agreement to remain at Molineux until the end of the
campaign, but chairman Rick Hayward has already stressed a desire to keep
him. Gray has given Wolves a fresh outlook on the training pitches in his
four months and now the 44-year-old is set for talks aimed at securing his
longer term future at Molineux.
Wolves Skipper Paul Ince is on
the brink of agreeing to stay another season and lead Wolves fight for an
instant return to the Premiership next season.
Boss Dave Jones has confirmed that he will be trying to make four or five
new signings this summer, but he said The Guvnor is poised to add his name
to the First Division roster for 2004/5.
Unless Wolves decide to sell
him, Molineux favourite Henri Camara will stay with Wolves.
His agent Willie McKay has confirmed that Bolton's Sam Allardyce and
Blackburn's Graeme Souness are among the Premiership managers who have
approached him.
But the Monaco-based agent is adamant that, despite igniting speculation
about Camara's future last weekend, the fate of the 26-year-old forward
will ultimately rest with Wolves.

Ticket Update
Both of Wolves final games of
the season are completely sold out. The match at Newcastle on Sunday sold
out earlier this week, and the home match against Spurs sold out this
morning.

Jones Job Safe
Wolves have vowed to stick by
manager Dave Jones after their failure to survive in the Premiership.
Jones ended Wolves 19-year absence from the top flight last summer, but
with Man City beating Newcastle last Saturday Wolves need a mathematical
miracle to avoid the drop. With two games left Man City have 38 points and
a -2 goal difference, while Wolves have 32 points and a -37 goal
difference, so even though Wolves could get six points and draw level it
will take a lot of goals to get them above Man City.
Chairman Rick Hayward and chief executive Jez Moxey are positive Wolves
will "bounce back" as West Brom have done.
Jez Moxey said: "We have
the nucleus of a good side here and if we can bring in a few more players,
we'll have an exciting team.
"The manager's aim is to bounce straight back and do it with style.
"We're also making sound progress to generate enough money to develop
the training ground.
"The finance isn't in place at the moment, but we hope to be able to
begin the building work this year."
Rick Hayward said: "We're
a building club and we want to move forward.
"We have a board meeting on 17th May when we will be discussing the
budget for transfers next season.
"I have nothing but good things to say about Dave Jones, his staff
and the players who have given everything.
"I hope Dave is here for the long haul. He's done a tremendous job,
and the team is getting better and better. It's just a pity we weren't
playing this well at the start of the season.
"We also need to sit down and talk to (coach) Stuart Gray, who we
would like to stay with us."
Reserves Lose
Wolves reserves lost 2-1
against Aston Villa reserves at Villa Park. Aston Villa are this season’s Barclaycard Premiership Reserve League
Champions.
Villa took the lead after 14
minutes following a free-kick from Peter Whittingham, Whittingham’s kick was driven through the six-yard box to the far post where it hit the unfortunate Townsend on the chest and bounced into the net.
Villa went two up in the 61st minute after Moore had gathered a cross from Steve Foley and lashed a close range shot into the roof of the net past the helpless Oakes.
In stoppage time, Miller raced onto a long through ball from Townsend and held off the challenge of James O’Connor before chipping over
Postma.
Aston Villa Reserves:
Postma, Delaney, J. O’Connor, Cahill, Nix, Whittingham, Ward, Davis, Dublin, Moore (Hynes 68), Foley
(Cormell 84).
Unused Subs: Gardner, Olejnik, Agbonlahor.
Wolves Reserves: Oakes, Townsend, Rafferty (Riley 78), Lowe, Craddock, Gudjonsson, K. O’Connor, Clingan, Iversen (Mulligan 61), Miller, Silas (Jones 45).
Unused Subs: Ikeme, Stewart.
Attendance: 899.

Transfer Rumours
Derby have contested suggestions that a trio of their
young stars are wanted by Wolves, after National newspaper speculation has
linked goalkeeper Lee Grant and teenage duo Tom Huddlestone and Lee Holmes
with moves to Molineux.
derby insist Grant, who signed a contract extension earlier this year, and
Young Player of the Year Huddlestone, who signed his first professional
contract after his birthday in December, will be staying put.
Holmes is expected to pen his own contract imminently.
Striker Steffen Iversen has admitted he will be pleased to head away from
Molineux in the summer.
The Norwegian hasn't been able to get in the team since the
turn of the year and he is looking forward to assessing his options when
his contract expires in a fortnight.
Wolves are reported to have opened talks with Brann for their Nigerian
star Seyi Olofinjana. Wolves are now looking at setting up a deal after tracking the classy midfielder for a number of
months.
But they will face tough competition for player who
moved to Norway in 2003, Torino and Auxerre are also in talks for the African.
"Brann are in negotiatons with Torino, Wolverhampton and Auxerre,"
confirmed his agent Didier Frenay to Bergens Tidende.
West Brom and Tottenham are also said to be very
interested, although they have not made an official move.
"It's the three clubs that I mentioned that are in negotiations
with Brann," added Frenay.
Over recent months, Paris Saint Germain, Monaco, Strasbourg, Lille,
Lens, Sochaux, Anderlecht and Rangers have all watched Olofinjana in
action.
Camara Cleared By FA
Wolves in-form striker Henri Camara
has escaped a ban from The FA for his tackle on
Southampton's Jason Dodd last month.
Camara was booked for the
dangerous tackle on Dodd in the game at Molineux last month and was charged with misconduct
and if The
FA found him guilty he faced a three-match ban.
But after video evidence was
presented by Wolves at the disciplinary hearing, Camara has been cleared
of any wrongdoing.
Wolves boss Dave Jones was
happy with the decision and insists justice was done, he said on WOW:
"The FA listened and
their decision has been the right one.
"All along Henri said
the tackle was clumsy but there was never any malicious intent and this
has been accepted.
"He's got a good
disciplinary record and he's very pleased with the verdict."

Moxey Responds To Press Reports
Wolves Chief executive Jez Moxey has this morning
responded on Wolves Official Website over comments accredited to Henri Camara prior to Saturday's game agains Everton.
Some sources reported Camara as saying he wanted to remain in the Premiership and included the direct quote: "I know there has been some interest shown in me and if Wolves were to get the right offer and it is the right club I would have to consider it.”
But, Jez told WOW this morning: “We have spoken to Henri and he has told us that he has made no such statement.”
Jez’s comments come after Dave
Jones post-match outburst over the actions of Camara’s agent Willie McKay, who went on record saying that if Wolves received a “suitable offer” for the player they might consider it. The Wolves boss reacted by insisting the club had signed Camara for the long term not the short term.
Jez added: “No-one should under-estimate our resolves to keep our best players at the club.”

Match Reaction
Wolves boss Dave Jones will
make hanging on to Henri Camara his number one priority after seeing his
side effectively relegated from the Premiership yesterday.
Camara's sixth goal in seven games steered his side towards victory over
Everton but results elsewhere mean only a mathematical miracle can keep
them up.
The Senegal star has been linked with a summer move away from Molineux but
Jones insisted: "Henri is here for the long-term, not the short-term.
"We've spent a lot of time with him because he didn't fire when he
first came to the club so his agent should shut up and let him get on with
it.
"Unless somebody comes in with ridiculous money we are going to keep
building with Henri as a player."
Jones praised his side's
fighting spirit and stressed the importance of battling through the final
two games of the season in order to approach the next campaign with
confidence.
Jones added: "I'm proud of my lads because they have given their all
today.
"It's a hard pill to swallow and football kicks you in the teeth a
lot. From coming off at the end happy we end up hearing the results
elsewhere.
"But we can take lots of positives. We have bounced back many times
this year from losing games and now we've got the big test and I think we
can bounce back again.
"I'm expecting my players to show the commitment and character that
we've shown all season otherwise they won't be at this football
club." from sportinglife.com
