Camara said: "I can't wait to get started.

"I know the high standard Celtic have set in recent seasons, winning the league three times out of four and having great runs in the Uefa Cup.
"I hope to make a major contribution to the team's results and help get us into the second stages of the Champions League for the first time.
"It was only at the end of the season that the Wolves fans saw the real me - when I scored in six of my last seven games.

Another Trialist

French striker Nicolas Gousse has come to Molineux for a trial, Gousse was at Ipswich earlier this week with a view to a permanent move after being told he can leave his current club Guingamp.
But the 28-year-old swiftly headed off to Ipswich's Championship rivals Wolves to feature in Tuesday's friendly against Mansfield Town.
He is expected to join fellow trialist Youl Mawene in playing for Wolves again in Friday's match with Manchester City.

Molineux boss Dave Jones admits he has yet to properly assess the former Rennes and Troyes forward and is keen to have a second look.
"Nicolas raced over from Ipswich to take part in the game and we only met him in the dressing room shortly before the game," said Jones.
"When he came on he put himself about and could have scored on two or three occasions.
"Hopefully, like Youl, we will take a further look at him on Friday."

Wolves Fine Camara

Wolves have fined Henri Camara two weeks wages for his failure to attend pre-season training and the tour of  Norway.
Camara handed in a written transfer request in May which was refused so he was due to start training on the 12th of July. But, after attending a meeting on that day with club officials, he left the country and only returned for a disciplinary hearing and further discussions about his future last Friday, the 23rd July.

Club secretary Richard Skirrow told Camara the result of the disciplinary hearing yesterday. Skirrow said on WOW: "Henri's absence from work, without good reason, is a fundamental breach of contract and he has been fined the maximum amount for such a first time offence.
"We have been at pains to point out to Henri that this fine should not be seen as a further episode in a battle with him. We are pleased that he returned to training yesterday.
"However a strong principle is involved here. He is under contract and should act accordingly. As his uncle and advisor accepted with good grace yesterday - rules are rules."

Another Trialist

29-year-old Romanian international Adrian Mihai Iencsi is at Molineux for a trial, not poised to sign a permanent deal as some media reports suggested this morning.
Iensci has fallen out of favour at Spartak Moscow where he has three years remaining on his contract, so he is looking for first team football elsewhere.

Camara Trains

Striker Henri Camara was at Compton Park this morning for training, after two more teams joined in the transfer saga created by Camara's agent.
Boss Dave Jones said on WOW: "Henri came in today. There's been a lot of talk that he wasn't going to turn up either today or for the meeting on Friday.
"But we knew all along that he would stick to his word and he has made the right decision by turning in.
"He'll be back in tomorrow and will carry on after that. And if anything comes up transfer wise then we'll look at the situation.
"We're just pleased that he has come back. He's got some work to do to get match fit but he would have been at that stage anyway because of being away with Senegal."
Asked if he still wanted Henri in his team, the boss said: "Yes, definitely. But if a club comes in with the right price then we would have to consider it. "But Henri is a Wolves player, he will train with us and we still want him. He's back in the fold and that's all we wanted in the first place."

Camara’s agent Willie McKay is pressing for Wolves to accept a British record loan fee offer of £1.2m from Celtic to borrow the disgruntled Senegalese striker for a season.
But local rivals West Brom have been told Camara will not be joining them, they were ready to offer around £3.75m for the 27-year-old striker.

Friendly Cancelled

Wolves have had to cancel their friendly game against Kidderminster on Wednesday 28th July, because of the number of injuries at Molineux.
A mixture of first and reserve team players were going to Aggborough, but Wolves only had 17 players fit and training today ready for the friendly against Mansfield tomorrow.
There was good news for one of the injured players Joleon Lescott, he had just twisted his knee and is expected back in training by the end of the week.

Strikers Update

Wolves have announced that Henri Camara is set to return to training on Monday after attended a meeting with club officials at Molineux this afternoon.

Following that meeting, there was a lengthy and constructive discussion about the way forward and Henri will report for training Monday morning.”

Vio Ganea will have to wait three weeks before knowing how long his knee injury is likely to keep him out of action, after scan results this afternoon showed that he has a slight tear to his cruciate. The striker was stretchered off in the Lyn match and Wolves have been advised to wait three weeks to let the knee settle down and then let the specialists have a further look at it.

Boss Blasts Bolton

Wolves boss Dave Jones has blasted Bolton Wanderers regarding their valuation of unsettled striker Henri Camara.
Jones believes Bolton are trying to unsettle the Senegal international after an improved offer of £2.7 million for the African star was rejected by Wolves on Monday.
With talks between the player and the club set to take place on Friday, Jones is unhappy with Bolton's valuation for Camara, claiming the bids are upsetting the striker.

Jones said on WOW: "Bolton have been told. Their chairman (Phil Gartside) has been told by Jez (Moxey) and their manager (Sam Allardyce) been told by me what is going to be acceptable (in terms of a fee) and they are still a million miles away.
"I don't know what they are playing at. They are just making the boy unsettled and they keep upsetting him.
"I find Bolton's behaviour and what they are doing scandalous. They should stop messing around.
"The situation is becoming a bit annoying and now they should put up or shut up.
"They must think that by upping their offer, that the club will just accept it and let him go.
"But, the boy is our player and he will be our player."

Second Signing

Wolves have completed their second signing of the summer, 21-year-old defender Rob Edwards, from Aston Villa. He has signed a three-year deal at Molineux for £150,000 which could rise to £225,000.
His transfer from Villa was delayed when a medical showed up a potential problem which related to an old ankle injury, so Wolves sent him to see a specialist in London who gave him the all clear.

Bodo/Glimt 2-0 Wolves

Wolves lost their second game of the pre-season tour against Bodo/Glimt at Aspmyra Stadium.

Bodo/Glimt took the elad after 14 minutes, Mark Clyde had fouled Trond Olsen 20-yards out, Andre Hanssen curled the free-kick into the area and Johanssen headed in.
Seven minutes later, Johansen struck again with his head from Runar Berg right-wing cross.

Temporary Seating Back

The temporary stand that was located in the south-west corner of Molineux last season is going to be re-erected. The extra seating will be in place for the first home game of 2004/05, but not in time for any pre-season friendlies.
The stand, which Sir Jack affectionately named the Graham Hughes Stand, proved to be a huge success throughout the 2003/04 season, with the 843-seat structure selling out for most of the Premiership matches.
Ticket prices will be £20 adults and £12 concessions, the same as those in the Jack Harris and Stan Cullis Stands, but it will only be opened once all other areas of the stadium have been sold out.

Nuneaton Friendly Cancelled

Wolves have been forced to cancel their reserve friendly with Nuneaton next week. A reserve side was due to visit Manor Park on Thursday 22nd July, but because of the amount of reserve players who have gone on the pre-season tour of Norway, the game has had to be cancelled.
The fully booked pre-season schedule means that it is not possible to rearrange the fixture this year and so Wolves have confirmed that the first team squad will visit Nuneaton next summer.

Players Leave For Tour

The Wolves players left Molineux this afternoon to travel to Norway for the pre-season tour. Their are three games one on Saturday against Tromso, then Bodo/Glimt on Monday and Lynn on Wednesday.

Camara Update

Wolves have confirmed they will pursue disciplinary action against striker Henri Camara if he does not report for pre-season training.
Camara left for France on Monday following a meeting with chief executive Jez Moxey. The matter was later discussed at a board meeting where it was decided that the club would stand firm against demands from the player's camp to seek a move to a Premiership club, for a transfer fee deemed unacceptable to Wolves.
Jez said on WOW: "In a day and age when professional football players earn fabulous salaries doing what many people would do for free, it is very disappointing that Henri Camara refused to participate in pre-season training on Monday, as instructed at a meeting with me, and has subsequently failed to report along with the rest of the players yesterday and today.
"The player and his advisors are wrong in what they are doing and they must understand that their actions have consequences. We want Henri to return to Molineux to begin pre-season training immediately. If he doesn't then ensuing disciplinary procedures will involve on-going fines.
"Henri wants to play in the Premiership but he has a contractual and moral responsibility to do his best to help Wolves regain the Premiership status which was lost last season with him as a regular team member. We feel he owes that to the club, the manager, his team mates and Wolves supporters everywhere.
"We know he has been influenced by the interest of Bolton Wanderers. It may or may not be a coincidence but Bolton faxed their one and only offer of £2.5million - which has been rejected - one hour prior to Henri and his advisors arriving at Molineux for Monday's meeting.
"This was an offer Phil Gartside, the Bolton Chairman, said he would not make but asked me instead to keep him informed if we decided to sell Henri in the future; a commitment I gave to him in good faith. The player has been unsettled and we are unhappy about what appears to have been going on behind the scenes.
"Some clubs would be forced to accept the apparent commercial reality of this situation - it's better to cash in and make a profit on a player who wants to be transferred to a Premiership club, rather than run the risk of devaluing your asset by keeping an unhappy player. Well, we want Henri to play for us, we want him to try his best to help the team win promotion at the first attempt and we will not, therefore, be forced to sell him to another club unless it is on terms acceptable to us.
"We are making a stand for what we believe is right and what we believe is for the good of the game of football."

First Signing Due Today

Wolves have announced they are to make their first summer signing today. Midfielder Seyi George Olofinjana is due to complete his transfer from Brann Bergen at Molineux today. The Nigerian international has completed a medical and is set to sign a four-year deal this morning, subject to being granted a work permit. A fee of £1.7million has been agreed for the 23-year-old, with the deal possibly rising to £2million with add-ons.
Boss Dave Jones said on WOW: "I am very pleased that George is finally here after months of tracking him.
"We thought we'd lost him at one stage but thankfully things have worked out and we've managed to get him back.
"George is a strong midfielder, a good passer of the ball and is equally happy attacking as he is defending. He is a good acquisition for Wolves and we look forward to seeing him in action for us."

The signing of defender Rob Edwards has been held up by concerns over an ankle injury he sustained several months ago. Wolves wanted to complete the transfer by the start of the week but his medical showed up a problem that now requires further investigation.
He been sent to see the country's leading ankle specialist, who will compile further reports on any problem the player may have. Until the report has been obtained, the proposed signing will remain on hold.

*UPDATE*
Seyi George Olofinjana has completed his transfer to Molineux. George, as he likes to be called, won't be joining the Wolves squad on their pre-season tour of Norway as he wants time to settle in the UK.

Tamworth 1-5 Wolves

Wolves beat Conference side Tamworth 5-1 in their first pre-season friendly yesterday evening.
Wolves took the lead after ten minutes, Paul Ince passed over a static Tamworth defence, which left Vio Ganea in the clear and just keeper Price to beat.
In the 18th minute Wolves got their second, Miller's clever flick found Newton and his shot was flicked into the net by Keith Andrews.
Then two minutes later Miller once again breached the offside trap, Price blocked Miller's shot but the loose ball ran kindly for Newton who stroked it into the empty net.
Mark Clyde set up Ganea for his second of the game in the 32nd minute. The Tamworth defence failed to clear the defender's cross and Ganea had time to chest the ball down before hooking it home for Wolves fourth.
Andrews made it five with his second of the game in the 36th minute with a crisp 25-yard shot.
Five minutes from the end, Bryan grabbed a consolation for Tamworth when he scored with an angled shot that went in off the foot of the far post.

Tamworth: Price (Clues 74), Johnson (back on - N. Smith 65), Colkin (Reece 56), A. Smith (S. Brown 71), Ayres (A. Brown 65), Bampton (Cooper 60), N. Smith (Storer 45), Sheppard (Bryan 45), May (back on - Sylla 82), Sylla (Ebdon 45), Gibson (Blunt 34).

Wolves Statement Over Camara

Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey released the following statement on WOW after he had a meeting with Henri Camara, his uncle, and his agent Willie McKay, at Molineux yesterday afternoon.
"We held talks yesterday afternoon, during which Henri refused to go to the training ground with the rest of his team mates.
"He has now gone to Paris, which we are unhappy about, and the matter remains unresolved at the moment.
"There is a Board Meeting this afternoon and this matter will be discussed in full. After this time then we will make further comment."

Transfers Update

From Skysports.com:

Skysports.com understands that Henri Camara has walked out on Wolves - insisting he will not play for them in The Championship.
The Senegalese international flew back for talks with Wolves on Monday, but following discussions with the club's hierarchy he has now departed again.
Camara is now in Paris waiting for his future to be resolved - but he insists he has no intention of playing his football outside the top flight.
"I have nothing against Wolves," Camara told skysports.com.
"If Wolves had stayed up, I would have stayed with them.
"But I want to play in The Premiership."
Wolves have previously insisted that they would not relent over Camara and they are likely to maintain that he should return to Molineux.
However, following further talks it now seems the player has finally decided that his future lies elsewhere - but it remains to be seen what Wolves' reaction is.

Kenny Miller is another player linked with a move away from Molineux, his agent David Baldwin has confirmed his client would like to move to Sunderland, as the Scots future at Wolves continues to look uncertain.
"I'm sure Kenny would love to join Sunderland," said Baldwin.
"I believe there has been some contact between the two clubs."

Real Betis midfielder Joey Gudjonsson who spent last season on loan at Molineux is a target for Rangers but the Iceland international would prefer a return to Wolves.
The 24-year-old is no longer wanted by Betis, despite having three years remaining on his contract. Betis are willing to offload Gudjonsson for a nominal figure but he is hoping to secure a free transfer.
"If I can get out of my contract I have lots of options available," said Gudjonsson.
"There are clubs in Holland and Germany showing an interest as well as Rangers and clubs in both The Premiership and the First Division.
"My first choice is still Wolves but I have not heard anything from them.
"There was a fee agreed when I went there on loan but I don't think they want to pay that amount.
"I think everyone is off for the summer but I am hoping that things will start happening in the next week and that I will start pre-season training with Wolves."
Gudjonsson is aware there is a wealth of interest in his services but admits he is slightly taken aback by the lack of offers.
He added: "I have heard about the interest from these clubs but it is the same situation as it is with Wolves and that is no-one wants to put in an offer.
"I feel that is quite strange. Betis are prepared to let me go for a small amount of money because they have recouped some money from the loan deals.
"They're quite desperate to get rid of me.
"In an ideal world I could leave on a free but it's not that easy. I don't know what is going to happen."

Nigerian international Seyi Olofinjana transfer to Monaco fell through earlier this week and he is now set for a move to England.
Wolves are known to have already made a move for the African and they would now appear to be favourites to land him, although there are other clubs looking him.
"A move to England is now most likely," confirmed Olofinjana's agent Didier Frenay.
"Wolves are very much still around, but there are number of clubs.
"The Monaco situation has set us back, but we are not quite back at the beginning.
"We hope to have something sorted out in the next few weeks."

Friendly Cancelled

Wolves have postponed tomorrow's friendly with Hednesford Town, the match was due to be played on the same day as another friendly at Tamworth, with the squad split into two.
But due to illness and injuries Wolves haven't got enough players for both games.
Club secretary Richard Skirrow said on WOW: "We would like to apologise to Hednesford Town officials, sponsors and supporters for this late cancellation especially as they had been so accommodating after our original friendly at Telford had to be called off because of their problems.
"Hednesford were able to take the fixture at short notice so to have to call it off at such late notice is doubly disappointing.
"However, to have proceeded with both games would have meant using a lot of Academy players which was not the basis on which the fixture had been planned or priced.
"We have promised to take a full strength squad to Hednesford for a friendly either during the coming season or, at worst, as part of next year's pre-season build-up.
"The game with Tamworth at The Lamb Ground, which was the first to be arranged some time ago, will take place as scheduled tomorrow with a 7.30pm kick-off."

Transfers Update

Veteran midfielder Paul Ince has signed a one-year contract with Wolves, he had contemplated retiring or heading for pastures new, but is willing to try to bolster the club's promotion bid.
Ince who is 37 in October, joined Wolves in August 2002, arriving on a free transfer from Middlesbrough.

Wolves have confirmed Leeds defender Michael Duberry's proposed transfer to Molineux has collapsed after Leeds pulled out of the deal.
The complicated transaction, which involved Duberry having to agree a settlement for termination of his Elland Road contract while seeking guarantees that the club's payments to him would continue even if Leeds went into administration, had been agreed in principle by the two clubs and the player.
But Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell has decided he wants to keep the 28-year-old in Yorkshire.
Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey said: "It's disappointing and frustrating Leeds have suddenly made this decision but things like this happen in football.
"We haven't yet heard from the player himself that he wants to stay at Leeds," Moxey told the club's official website. "But if this is the case then we'll move on to pursue other targets."

Wolves midfielder JJ Melligan has joined Cheltenham Town for £25,000, with a sell on clause written into the agreement
The 22-year-old will meet up with former Molineux assistant boss John Ward who is Cheltenham's manager and his assistant Keith Downing, who was in charge of Wolves’ reserve team last season.

Chief executive Jez Moxey has announced that Wolves are on the verge of concluding talks aimed at extending the contract of defender Lee Naylor.
His current contract is due to expire next summer and the 24-year-old is about to embark on his eighth season with Wolves.
Jez said on WOW: “We have been in discussions with Lee’s representatives regarding a contract extension and talks are now at an advanced stage. Hopefully they will be concluded soon.
“He came through the youth system here at Molineux and, like his fellow graduate Mark Clyde who has recently signed an extension to his contract, we see Lee as an important part of the club’s future.”

Boss Fined

Wolves boss Dave Jones has been fined £1,000 by the FA and warned as to his future conduct after being found guilty of bringing the game into disrepute.
The charges had related to post-match comments made by Jones regarding referee Uriah Rennie's handling of Easter Monday's 2-1 Molineux defeat to Bolton.
The punishment follows the Wolves manager's personal hearing in front of a three-man panel at Birmingham's Burlington Hotel.

Two Staff Leave Molineux

Wolves have announced that deputy chairman, Derek Harrington CBE, has retired from his position on the club's Board of Directors.
Mr Harrington joined the Wolves Board in July 1998 as a friend and colleague of former chairman, Sir Jack Hayward OBE.
He has celebrated his 70th birthday and decided this is the right time to retire from day-to-day involvement in the club. He will continue to work with Sir Jack and his partner Edward St. George in their various business interests in the Bahamas and remains a director of Wolves’ parent company, W.W. 1990 Ltd.

He said on WOW: “I have enjoyed six memorable years on the Board of Directors at Wolverhampton Wanderers and will be sad to leave.
“However, I have given the subject of my retirement from the club a great deal of thought and as I reach my 70th birthday now seems an ideal time to step down and concentrate more fully on my other business interests.
“I have seen many changes at Molineux during my time with the club, the most enjoyable of which was finally gaining promotion to the Premiership in Cardiff. It was wonderful to see Sir Jack receiving his just rewards for all he has done for the club over the years. As I leave, I know the club is in good hands with Rick Hayward as Chairman - he and the team are working hard to regain Premiership status at the first attempt and I wish him well. I look forward to being able to return to watch the campaign without the pressures of football decision making”

Chairman Rick Hayward will not be appointing anyone to fill the position of deputy chairman but continues to seek new investment for the club which could include new people joining the Board in the future.

Reserve team coach Keith Downing is also leaving Molineux, to team up with former colleague John Ward as his assistant manager at Cheltenham Town.
Downing joined Wolves staff as an Academy coach in March 1999 and had spent six years as a player at Molineux winning Division Four, Division Three and Sherpa Van Trophy medals.
He said on WOW: "It's been a difficult decision but this is a chance for me to work at first team level.
"I spent most of my playing and coaching career with Wolves and I have a great affection for the club, so saying goodbye to everyone has been hard. But the Cheltenham job is a more senior and diverse role and will give me a chance to develop my career.
"I will always be grateful to Wolves for helping me up the coaching ladder and I wish the club, Dave Jones and all the lads and the supporters the very best for next season."
