Work Permit Granted

Wolves new signing Sami Al Jaber has been granted a work permit which will allow him to play in Britain.
The Saudi national captain signed for Wolves last week, but has been awaiting news of his permit in his home town of Riyadh. Sami is expected to travel back to Britain next week when his international clearance is expected to be granted.
The completion of this complex deal, the first of its kind between a British and Saudi club, will also be subject to a satisfactory medical.

Injury Update

It was thought that Michael Branch would be sidelined for a further two weeks with his troublesome hamstring whilst Robert Taylor has been doubtful with a calf problem.
But Wolves could be boosted by the return of the strikers to the attack for the trip to Gillingham.
However, Boss Colin Lee says that the two men have been responding well to treatment and could be included in the squad for the Priestfields clash.

International Problems

Wolves have 3 players on international duty this week, and Colin Lee has hit out at the long-running clash between club and international football after failing in a late attempt to force the postponement of Saturday's game at Gillingham.
On top of an injury pile-up that is now approaching crisis proportions, Lee has lost Carl Robinson to the Welsh squad - just as he was pencilling the midfielder into his starting line-up for the weekend.
With Lee Naylor on England under-21 duty at Middlesbrough tonight and Ryan Green with Wales at the same level in Belarus for a match tomorrow night, the Molineux boss thought he had a strong case for having the Gillingham game called off.
But the club have been refused on the grounds that Naylor - an ever-present so far this season - has 36 hours or so to recover after tonight's game.

Sami Update

Sami Al Jaber will not be in Wolves line-up at Gillingham on Saturday, even if his work permit comes through in time.
Manager Colin Lee today made it clear he wasn't looking at his impending arrival from Saudi Arabia as an immediate cure to the club's poor start to the season.
"The permit hasn't come through yet and I don't know whether it will in time for the weekend," Lee said.
"But my plan is to feed Sami in gently. He is not due back in the country until tomorrow and I don't intend to put him in the starting line-up straightaway.

Boss's Warning

Angry Colin Lee has described as totally unacceptable' the errors that have left Wolves reeling from an embarrassing first League defeat of the season.
And the Molineux boss warned that his patience is wearing thin with the number of goals his side are conceding from set-pieces.
Not usually one for publicly criticising his players, Lee broke out of the habit in the wake of the 3-1 crash at Portsmouth that returned the club to a position in the bottom half of the First Division table.

He complained: "I am not prepared to put up with that kind of football and sooner or later we have got to learn from our mistakes. We just gave away goals."
He added: "We tried to be too fancy in the wrong areas and it cost us dearly. We created all our own problems"
Lee, beaten for the first time in the league this season, said his players had ignored all the lessons they had been taught in training.
Lee stated: "We did not lose the game because we were overrun - we lost because we kept making silly mistakes.
We gave away needless corners and we gave away a needless penalty. It was ridiculous the way we made errors and it has got to stop."

Injuries Update

Wolves striker Michael Branch will be missing for a month because of his troublesome hamstring problem and midfielder Andy Sinton is very doubtful for Saturday's game at Gillingham because of a groin strain.
New striker Robert Taylor has also joined the growing list of players under treatment at Molineux suffering a calf injury, and Lee says he too is touch and go for the trip to the Priestfield Stadium.
Lee kept Taylor's injury under wraps after their 1-0 success over Burnley, but all was revealed when he announced his team at Fratton Park with George Ndah taking over in attack alongside Temuri Ketsbaia.
It was Ndah's first start since he broke his leg last October in the derby game at West Brom and he turned in a determined display.

Andy Sinton is struggling with a groin injury and is doubtful for today's trip to Portsmouth after limping off in the 1-0 win over Burnley on Saturday.

Midfielder Say's No to Bid

Colin Lee is reported to have had a bid rejected for Blackburn Rovers star Billy McKinlay.
The Wolves boss is trying to add a tough-tackling midfielder to the his squad and had targeted the Scottish International, but the player has apparently refused a move from Lancashire.
Blackburn boss Graeme Souness said: "Wolves came in for Billy McKinlay and they were keen to take him but the lad has decided to say no."
He added: "There is nothing I can do about that - they've not come back in since so I presume this one is dead now."

Sami's Farewell

New Wolves striker Sami Al Jaber was saying an emotional farewell to his fans when he played his final game for his Saudi club, Al Hilal.
And he did it in style by scoring the two goals that won the Asia Cup game for Al Hilal who had gone a goal down to the Syrian club, Al-Karamah.

Youth Teams In Action

The under 17s, playing at Compton Park, twice came from behind to beat Fulham 3-2. Scorers for Keith Downing's boys were Steve Bampfield, Leon Clarke and Ashley Vincent.

In London the under 19s also had a good afternoon with goals from Jermaine Easter (pictured left) and Shane Barrett securing a 2-0 victory over Fulham.

Players Swap?

Teamtalk.com have reported that Wolves are prepared to trade Neil Emblen and Kevin Muscat to prise Chris Lucketti away from Huddersfield Town.
The Terriers rejected the Midlanders' initial approach for club skipper Lucketti a couple of weeks ago.
It would seem the Wolves boss is likely to increase the cash element of his offer and include midfield man Emblen and defender Muscat as part of the deal.
However, despite Lee's interest in the player, Huddersfield have said they are not prepared to sell Lucketti, a £750,000 signing from Bury last summer, who they rate in the £2m-plus bracket these days.
Make your own minds up on this story, seems strange for Colin Lee to get rid of his new captain and fans favourate Muscat, also Emblen who just received a new long Molineux contract.

Teams News for Tomorrow's Game

Colin Lee will be without Michael Branch and Ludovic Pollet as he names his side to face Burnley at Molineux. Striker Branch is suffering from a hamstring problem, while Pollet could be out for two months with a hernia problem.

Another Defender Linked

Reports have indicated Colin Lee is trying to strengthen the Wolves defence and is lining up a £1 million bid for Dundee United's Canadian star Jason Devos.
Lee had Devos closely watched this week when he appeared in Dundee's game against Alloa.
Wolves have been linked with several Defenders over the last few weeks as cover for injured Ludovic Pollet, and it looks Colin Lee has settled on Devos as his target.

Branch Injury Update

Michael Branch could be forced to miss his third game of the season because of his niggling hamstring injury.
The Wolves Striker sustained the problem in Wolves first game of the campaign against Sheffield Wednesday at Molineux .
It kept him sidelined for the trip to Stockport and he was again missing from the action when Wolves took on Oxford last night.
And there is now a danger he could also be forced to miss out at Molineux this weekend when newly-promoted Burnley make the trip.

22nd August 2000

Saudi Star Signs

Wolves have agreed terms and are to pay around £1.3m for Saudi international striker Sami Al Jaber.
The 27-year-old has signed a four year contract until 2004, and will become the first player from Saudi Arabia to play in England.
The Saudi National captain will complete the move subject to obtaining a work permit, and clearance from the Saudi Football Federation, which until recent years has refused to allow players to play in other countries.
The deal will also involve Wolves playing two exhibition matches in Riyadh against Al-Jaber's club, Al Hilal.
Wolves boss Colin Lee said: "He is a very determined character and he wants to play to the best of his ability. We have been very impressed with what we have seen so far."

More Defenders Linked

5 defenders have been linked with Wolves one is Huddersfield's centre-half Chris Lucketti, but Colin Lee will not reveal the other 4 players identities.
Lee confirmed: "I certainly have players in my sights and we will be monitoring four centre-halves this week.
"Hopefully we should be getting somewhere by the end of the week."

21st august 2000

Emblen's New Deal

Wolves utility player Neil Emblen has signed a two year extension to his current deal which will keep him at Molineux until 2003, nine years on from when he was first brought to the club by Graham Taylor.
Emblen, richly praised by manager Colin Lee for his outstanding switch to central defence on Saturday.

Molineux Trial for Boyack

Colin Lee has invited Dundee midfielder Steven Boyack to Molineux for a week's trial as he tries to strengthen his squad.
Lee is prepared to match the £300,000 the Dens Park club want for his services but the player himself has yet to decide over the move.
Rangers remain entitled to 25% of any selling-on fee, and that is why Dundee are looking for such an increase on the £25,000 they paid for him originally.

Injury Blow

Wolves will be without Ludovic Pollet for several weeks after he was found to have a hernia problem and will have an operation in the next few days and could be out for up to two months.

18th August 2000

Bid Rejected

Wolves bid of £600,000 for midfielder Tony Dinning has been rejected by Stockport. Dinning scored in both league meetings between the two clubs last season, and will line-up against Wolves at Edgeley Park on Saturday.

Injury Update

George Ndah returned to Molineux on Thursday, and 'flew through training' according to physio Kevin O'Leary. The striker has now fully recovered from the broken leg he suffered in only his third game for Wolves. He had his pre-season training campaign halted by some inflamed tissue at the side of his knee, but after some rest, George was packed off to Lilleshall this week for some one to one fitness work.

Even so, the former Swindon man says that he is still suffering from some discomfort in the knee, though nowhere near the original pain.

17th August 2000

Contract Offer

Wolves teenage striker Adam Proudlock is to be offered a new contract, after firing five goals in the first three games of his three-month loan spell with Clyde. But Manager Colin Lee has ruled out bringing Proudlock back to Molineux after his goal spree. Lee, who is currently on a scouting trip to Scotland, said: "It's done Adam the world of good coming up here.

"He's scored five goals, including a hat-trick against Falkirk on his debut, and his confidence has been boosted as a result. I believe this how the development of young players should be handled.

"It's all very well doing well in our reserves, but they need to see if they can cope with first team football. After Adams's success, I will be looking to do the same with some of our other youngsters."

Transfer Update

Wolves are hoping to announce the signing of Saudi Arabian striker Sami Al-Jaber within the next 24 hours.
"Sami is determined to move to Molineux," said Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey. "We are optimistic it will all be resolved very quickly."

16th August 2000

Wolves have completed the £1.55m signing of striker Robert Taylor from Manchester City.
Taylor, who had been at Maine Road for less than a year since moving from Gillingham for a similar fee, rejected a move to Portsmouth.
He has agreed a four-year contract at Molineux, ending Colin Lee's search for a replacement for Ade Akinbiyi, who moved to Leicester for £5m last month.

Also Colin Lee has revealed that he expects Saudi Arabian striker Sami Al-Jaber to be a Wolves player within 24 hours.

14th august 2000

New Striker?

It's been reported that at a press conference on Tuesday at 9:30am Manchester City striker Robert Taylor will be unveiled as Wolves latest signing.
Wolves have had a bid in the region of £1.5 million accepted by the Premiership club after Molineux officials held talks with the player over the weekend.

Defence for Fans

Wolverhampton's police chief today defended Wolves genuine supporters after the club was named at the top of a national hooligan league of shame.
So-called Wolves fans were involved in nine out of 83 incidents of serious violence last season, according to a shock report from the National Criminal Intelligence Service (NCIS).
More than half of the clashes revolved around local derbies with the most violent flaring prior to a fixture away to Birmingham City last April when petrol bombs and bottles caused serious injuries to rival fans and police.

Ndah Update

Wolves Striker George Ndah will spend four days this week at Lilleshall to sharpen up his fitness as he continues his comeback from injury.
Colin Lee hopes that a trip to Lilleshall will speed up his chances of a first team return.
"George has no problems with his leg or knee but he does need to improve his fitness," said Lee.

Wolves Attempting a deal

Manager Colin Lee today confirmed that an offer had been made to Saudi star Sami Al Jaber's camp, although they have not yet been in touch with his club Al Halal.

"Sami has shown enough to make us very interested," Lee said today. "We have had a lengthy discussion with his agent and hope what we have proposed will be acceptable.

"I'm hoping and praying it comes off, but it could come down to whether the agent can persuade his club to agree.

"He has enjoyed his time here and is a smashing lad, and I would love to be the man who gives him his chance in English football."

But Lee refused to divulge whether Wolves were bidding to buy the 27-year-old outright or take him on a paid loan deal. It's unlikely they would meet the reported £2m valuation on the player as they still favour a tall target-man to complement Michael Branch and Temuri Ketsbaia, the latter earmarked for a role up front in Sunday's Molineux curtain-raiser against Sheffield Wednesday.
The Al Jaber situation has to be resolved within a few days as he is otherwise required for a game with his club on August 23.

Lee today confirmed for the first time that Wolves had bid strongly for Finnish international Jonatan Johansson, the Rangers striker who recently joined Charlton for £3.5m. But they dropped out at £3m

Bid Confirmed for Taylor

Manchester City have confirmed that Wolves have made a bid of £1.6million for striker Robert Taylor.
They are believed to have accepted the bid for the 29-year-old striker who joined Man City from Gillingham in November 1999, after he was voted the Gills' player of the season in 1998-99 after scoring 16 goals in 43 appearances.
But it appears that Wolves are in something of a tug-of-war for the player's signature, with Portsmouth also having made an identical bid.
City boss Joe Royle said: "We have received a £1.6million bid for Robert Taylor from Wolves as well as Portsmouth and he is thinking over a move."
Taylor is reported to have been looking good in pre-season and scored 5 goals in 11 appearances for City during their promotion campaign last term.

Hello's and Goodbye's

Wolves have signed former Swindon goalkeeper Frank Talia on a month's contract after second-choice keeper Mike Stowell picked up an ankle injury. The 28-year-old, currently a free agent, will be on the bench for the visit of Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday.

Wolves have cancelled midfielder Paul Simpson's contract by mutual consent due to a lack of first-team opportunities and the player has now signed for Blackpool.

Prices Dropped

Wolves have dropped admission prices for their Worthington Cup tie against Oxford at Molineux.
The game will be played on Tuesday 22nd August and adults will be admitted to any section of the ground for just £10.
Concessionary groups will be able to pay £5 for the game with the second leg taking place at the Manor Ground on September 5th.

10th August 2000

Still Waiting

There's only 3 days before the start of the new season and the Wolves management staff are still waiting for the new contracts that they've been promised all summer.
Colin Lee and his backroom team have yet to see the new deals pledged before the end of 1999-2000.

The issue is not seen as a major problem after the problems over the summer at the club, but the issue has dragged on much longer than expected.
No pay rises are involved, but the manager, assistant boss John Ward and reserve coach Terry Connor are to be given one-year roll-on deals. That means they will be owed a year's salary at any stage if they are sacked.
Lee has remained relaxed about contract extensions first publicised by former managing director John Richards at the start of May.
But he will be mindful that the paperwork could become harder to see through with elements of the club's board if the deals are not signed before Sunday and Wolves should then make a poor start to the season.

Replacement Keeper Search

Mike Stowell could be facing another long spell on the sidelines so Colin Lee is once again scouring the market for a goalkeeper.
Stowell will be seeing a specialist tomorrow after fresh problems with his ankle, that made him spend much of last season on the sidelines.
The long serving keeper will undergo keyhole surgery to determine the problem but, says Lee, it looks as though he has flaked more bone off the ankle.
Lee said: "If the doctors discover there is trouble they will deal with it there and then. And that could mean Mike being out for months rather than weeks."

9th August 2000

Talks Started

Talks have started between Wolves and Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal about signing their star striker Sami Al-Jaber.
Wolves have asked Al-Hilal about the fee they want for the the 27 year old forward after he has impressed Colin Lee and John Ward during his trial at Molineux.
Al-Jaber came close to grabbing a hat-trick in Wolves weekend defeat at the hands of Southampton and then notched a brace of strikes in their mid-week 2-2 friendly draw with Worcester City.
"He has certainly looked impressive in his time with us but there is a lot to discuss before any decision is made about taking him on the books. We have to add everything up to see if we can afford him. It would be a totally different culture for him if he joined Wolves."

Day Trip for New Star

Wolves new £900,000 signing Temuri Ketsbaia took a day trip to Paris today, to ensure he is available for a Molineux debut against relegated Sheffield Wednesday this weekend.
The former Newcastle forward had to leave Britain and then re-enter to meet the red-tape requirements of the work permit that was being granted today.
Katsbaia's excursion out of Birmingham Airport did not cost him any training time as Wolves' players were on a day-off anyway. But it will be full-steam ahead from tomorrow as the countdown continues to Sunday's opening First Division game of the club's season.

Katsbaia will soon be heading off on his travels again, he's been named in the Georgia squad for next Wednesday's friendly international in Iran and has to report on Tuesday.

8th August 2000

Decision Time

Today Wolves manager Colin Lee was deciding whether to take the plunge with the biggest star in Saudi Arabian football. Molineux trialist Sami Al Jaber impressed Wolves fans as well as Lee in Saturday's friendly against Southampton, followed that up with two goals in a reserve friendly at Worcester last night.
Al Jaber was only able to play as a trialist because of Worcester's agreement to denote the match proceeds to charity but he made the trouble worthwhile with another intriguing performance watched by Lee and Chief Executive Jez Moxey.
Al Jaber's trial at Molineux is the subject of massive interest back in his homeland as indicated by the volume of phonecalls from the Saudi Arabian press to the Wolves media office.
Lee is now expected to make a decision over whether or not to extend the striker's stay. Although the Saudi Arabian favourite has shown undoubted promise, there could be a dilemma over a clash of styles with the specialist forwards currently at the club.

Colin Lee Said: "It is not ideal to be making such an important decision over a short space of time" "The lad definitely has something to offer and gave a very interesting performance in the Southampton match. Last night he took his goals well."
"But that only confirmed some of the things we have been seeing during training."

Draw for Reserves

Last night Wolves reserves were held to a draw by Worcester City in an entertaining friendly at St George's Lane, which saw Sami Al Jaber score two goals to level the score 2-2.

Worcester Team: McDonnell (P. Wyatt), Bradley, Jukes, Tucker, Weir (Heeley 45), Carty (Deakin 70), Wyatt, Cottrill, Owen (Jefferson 78), Lutz (Burgess 80), Reed.

Unused subs: Hyde.

Wolves Team: Murray, Green (Clyde 82), Camara, Andrews, Simms (Epesse Titi 53), Sedgley, Tudor, Crowe, Larkin (Barratt 80) , Al Jaber (Leonard 75), McQuade (Loughlin 54).

Unused subs: Kerr, Melligan, Ward.

Attendance: 1,305.

New Official Wolves Website

On the 11th August Wolves are launching there new Official website, let's hope the new one will load a bit quicker than the old one. www.wolves.co.uk

7th August 2000

Saudi Arabian trialist Sami Al-Jaber is keen to make an impact at Molineux following his promising display on Saturday when Wolves lost to Southampton.
If Colin Lee is sufficiently impressed to sign the striker on a permanent basis, he will be the first from his country to play in England. But Wolves have been warned they will have to spend £2 million if they do want to sign him.

Al-Jaber explained: "Until a year ago we were not allowed to play for foreign clubs. The rule was ended because it was felt that if players got experience of other leagues, especially in Europe, it would benefit the national team."
"I hope to be the first to play in England because I want to widen my horizons and improve my game. I believe I can do it here with Wolves."

6th August 2000

Hatrick Debut

Wolves on loan striker Adam Proudlock grabbed a stunning hat-trick on his debut for Scottish club Clyde, in a 3-1 win over Falkirk.
The youngster now fully recovered from the broken leg he suffered last season, has been allowed to link up with the Scottish First Division outfit by Colin Lee to earn himself valuable first team experience.

Lee on Ketsbaia

Colin Lee recommended Temuri Ketsbaia to ex-boss Mark McGhee three and a half years ago but now Lee is delighted to have finally signed him.
Lee said: "I first went to see him in Greece three and a half years ago and I thought we could get him. He and his wife came for talks at Molineux, but I honestly don't know what happened after that."
He added: "The deal just evaporated and the next thing I knew he was playing for Newcastle."
With Wolves keen to strengthen in key areas Lee believes that the swoop for Ketsbaia should help Wolves attract more players of a similar quality.
Although the signing is subject to the player being granted a work permit, Lee believes the sorting out of the red-tape will be a formality.

5th August 2000

Wolves loose last Friendly

Wolves lost there last friendly 2-1 at Molineux this afternoon, but the fans had something to cheer about as the call of "sign him up" rang around Molineux as Wolves trialist Sami Al-Jaber left the pitch, he was very lively in the first forty-five minutes, almost netting a long-range half volley from a Darren Bazeley pass.
In the fourth minute Andy Sinton opened the scoring for Wolves with his first goal for Wolves since joining them last summer.
Marian Pahars and Hassan Kachloul scored Southampton's goals and Dean Richards was given a hostile welcome from the Wolves fans as he made his first appearance at Molineux since his move to the Dell last summer.

4th August 2000

Wolves Sign Ketsbaia

Wolves have named Georgian international Temuri Ketsbaia as their first major signing for the 2000/2001 season on there website, subject to a successful medical and the granting of a work permit so he won't be available to play in Wolves' pre-season friendly against Southampton on Saturday.
The 32 year old striker has put his name to a two year contract at Molineux after leaving Newcastle for a £900,000 fee.
Manager Colin Lee says: "Temuri is a player who will add something different to the squad. He can play, and score goals, from a variety of positions".
"He's a hard working player and is technically very good. Temuri is a quality signing and one which I hope will demonstrate the ambition we have at Wolves."
Ketsbaia adds: "I'm happy to be signing fo Wolves. I can see they have the ambition to be in the Premier League. I hope for the fans that we can do that this season."

Ketsbaia, who has played over 40 games for his country, began his career with Dinamo Sukhumi of the old USSR Second Division. He then went on to play for Dinamo Tbilis before beginning his overseas career with Aanorthosis Famagusta of Cyprus.
From there the striker, who can also play in midfield, moved to AEK Athens before signing as a free agent at St James' Park in the summer of 1997.
Ketsbaia won a Greek Cup winners medal in 1996 and 1997. He retired from international football in 1998.

Wolves Win Friendly

Wolves beat Leicester 2-0 in a behind closed doors friendly on Thursday, Included in the team, under the charge of Terry Connor, were two new signings and three trialists with the rest of the side comprised of the club's young professionals.
Wolves had gone one up in the 39th minute through Cyril who tapped the ball in after good work by Sami.
Then Colin Larkin wrapped things up with a spectacular second ten minutes from the end. The Irish youngster flicked the ball over his head and then turned to volley it home as it dropped.
Connor said: "The youngsters have started well - they got some rustiness out of their systems in the Nuneaton game and they have progressed steadily since then."

New Away Kit

As requested by some visitors here are some pictures of the new Wolves away kit, which goes on sale on the 26th August.

Saudi Star on Trial at Wolves

Saudi Arabian International striker Sami Al-Jaber is having trials at Wolves with a view to a possible permanent move. The 27 year old (known as the Blue Fox in Saudi Arabia) played in the 1994 and 1998 World Cup Finals for his country, and scored 44 goals in 80 appearances. He will be the first player to leave Saudi if he signs at Molineux. Al-Jaber will play for Wolves in Saturday's friendly against Southampton as a lone striker because of the injuries to Michael Branch and George Ndah.
Wolves boss  Colin Lee said "He has arrived with a big reputation, i'm told he's as big as Alan Shearer in Saudi, and has looked very good in training"

Balanced Books?

Wolves Chief Executive Jez Moxey has slammed rumours that Wolves sold star striker Ade Akinbiyi to Leicester City simply to balance the books at Molineux.
The club has been subject to criticism since the striker was sold to the premiership side for £5 million, but Moxey has been quick to dispel rumours of the sale being motivated simply by financial gain.
The chief executive said: "The manager felt we could get a better team by spending the £5 million raised from the player.
"That is what happened when Robbie Keane was sold to Coventry City and it is what will happen now.
"We became a much better team after Robbie was sold. That is why we decided to sell Akinbiyi."
Moxey, who stressed they would not have sold the Nigerian international to a rival First Division club, also said the club were now looking for new players.
He added: "We have the money now to spend on the men we want. But we won't be forced into bad deals and the supporters have got to be patient.
"We could balance the books by keeping the Akinbiyi money. But then we would have no chance at all making progress, in the coming season.
"Wolves want to get back amongst the top clubs in football. That is where we belong," he said.

Ticket Sales Update

Despite no major signings have been made this summer Wolves have nearly matched last summer's season-ticket sales.
The club have sold 12,300 tickets to date, only 100 behind last season's corresponding number and Jez Moxey is confident that if the club can deliver some exiting new signings at Molineux before the start of the new season, sales will sour above last season's figure.

Parts of Molineux Closed

Wolves are closing down sections of Molineux for Saturday's friendly fixture against Southampton in order to create a better atmosphere.
The whole of the John Ireland stand and the home section of the Jack Harris stand will not be opened to supporters.
Molineux secretary Richard Skirrow said: "We felt it would be more economical and make for a better atmosphere here if the Wolves fans were seated in just two sections of the ground instead of four."
The club will be hoping the more intense atmosphere will hope to end a run of defeats against Premiership opposition, having been beaten by both Coventry and Aston Villa in recent weeks.
But don't panic if you have a ticket for the closed sections you will be relocated elsewhere in the ground.

In's and Out's at Molineux

Robert Niestroj has joined Greek team Iraklis on 6 months loan. Iraklis want to bye the
player but this cannot be done before January which is the next transfer season in the greek championship. Also leaving Molineux was reserve striker Adam Proudlock who left the club to join Clyde on a three month loan deal.
After a successful trial at Molineux Wolves are ready to offer a 12 month contract to French defender Epesse Titi.
He impressed Colin Lee when he joined Wolves on the pre-season tour of Ireland, and he has maintained his form in the Molineux friendlies against Coventry and Aston Villa. Now Lee is set to get the Bordeaux defender on the books to help strengthen his squad for the coming season.

New Rules for New Season

The main change for the new campaign is the ten yard rule for dissent. Any decision that is disputed will result in a ten yard forfeit against the team that conceded the free-kick.
The offence will carry an automatic yellow card for any offender and the free-kick will be not only be advanced by ten yards, but will also be moved to a position central to the goal.
For example, if a foul is committed on the wing, and someone kicks the ball away or shows dissent, then the free-kick will be moved to the middle of the field and ten yards further on towards the attacking goal.
If further protests follow, then the ball will be advanced again - even into the penalty area up to the six yard line when defenders will be allowed to stand on the goal line.
For goalkeepers the rule implemented in the summer's European Championships, whereby keepers can take as many steps as they like but only retain possession of the ball in their hands for six seconds, will now be used in the Premier and Football Leagues.
Racist remarks will be treated as an automatic red card offence and any player who removes his shirt, for instance whilst celebrating a goal, will be shown a yellow card.
If any two or more players confront a referee about a decision, then the official can send in a report to the FA and the club in question will be held responsible.
Another important ruling will be the one where the fourth official will be able to 'buzz' the referee to stop the game and inform him of any off the ball incidents.
The fourth official will now be a Football League official and not, as in other years, a semi-professional.
