Green on Trial
Wolves’ Welsh international full back Ryan Green is having a trial with Kidderminster Harriers. Green hasn’t
played for Wolves since the appointment of Dave Jones as boss his last
appearance was as a substitute in the FA Cup tie at Nottingham Forest last
January.
Wolves boss Dave Jones said on WOW!: "Ryan’s available and we’ve let everybody know that. He won’t be going out on loan as he’s in the last throes of his contract - if somebody wants him then they’ll have to come and take him.
"I’ll allow him to go for a two game trial period and he has to go away and do the business and earn a contract elsewhere."

Taylor Returns
Wolves striker Robert Taylor has
returned from loan with Division Two QPR after breaking down with a calf
problem.
Taylor has been plagued by injuries since his switch from Manchester City.
QPR had already claimed they would not be pursuing their interest in the
player, so it remains to be seen whether he has a future at Wolves.
Fixtures Update
Wolves match against Barnsley on
Saturday 6th October has been postponed due to international call-ups.
Wolves have had three players called up to their national squads so far, they are Carl Robinson and Nathan Blake for Wales against Belarus and Mark Kennedy for Ireland against Cyprus. The Scottish squad has yet to be
announced which could include Colin Cameron.
Miller Injury Update
Wolves loan-star
striker Kenny Miller could be out for between six weeks to eight weeks after
fracturing his collarbone. He was rushed straight to hospital last night
after being stretchered off following a awkward fall during last nights win
over Nott'm Forest.
Boss Dave Jones said: "You get injuries in the game, they happen. But
one player's loss is someone else's gain and we have Adam Proudlock and
Cedric Roussel on the bench, George Ndah coming back from injury and Michael
Branch starting to get fit.
This problem shows how important it is to have good players fit and ready to
come in".
Miller has returned home to Glasgow for a couple of weeks but will return to
Molineux when his shoulder has improved.

Belarusn on Saturday 6th October, although the Welsh team can't qualify.

Ketsbaia Transfer Listed
Dave Jones has put Temuri
Ketsbaia on the transfer list after a reported row with the boss at the
Gillingham game, Ketsbaia traveled with the team but was sent home in taxi
after not being included in the 16 man squad.
The temperemental Georgian has not started a League game this season and his
first team opportunities appear to be limited with the arrival of several
new faces in the squad. The
player is currently on compassionate leave in order to attend the funeral of
his national team coach, who was killed in a car accident.

Jez Moxey has said that if
offers come in for some first team players he will sell them to balance the
books after the Wolves boss Dave Jones splashed out close to his transfer
limit on Mark Kennedy, Shaun Newton, Colin Cameron, Nathan Blake and Alex
Rae.
One player already linked with a move is youngster Joleon Lescott, although
Dave Jones said he would not sell him, Southampton are thought to be
interested in him after ex-Wolves defender Dean Richards signed for Spurs
for £8.2 million. Other players that are thought could be allowed to leave
are Temuri Ketsbaia, Michael Branch and George Ndah

Murray. The Wolves boss has a deadline of 3 hours before kick-off to sign
someone on loan for the Walsall game this Friday.
Rae Finally Signs
Sunderland midfielder Alex Rae
has finally completed his £1million to Molineux. Sunderland were stalling
over paying off the remainder of his contract after Rae had agreed personal
terms and passed a medical at Wolves last week. But Rae
sorted out the severance payment and completed the formalities of the
transfer this afternoon and could go
straight into the squad for Friday's game with Walsall. Rae will start training
with his new team mates tomorrow morning.

signing Nathan Blake has said he wants to take Wolves penalties after Colin
Cameron hit the post on Saturday. The striker who scored on his debut said:
"There will not be any second chances. I want to take all our future
penalties."

alone there were 440 messages on my website.''
"I know they love goal-scores at this club, but I never expected this
kind of backing from the fans.''

Rae Transfer Stalled
Dave
Jones efforts to sign Sunderland midfielder Alex Rae aren't going as
smoothly as first thought, but Jones thinks he can sort it out and the
player will sign next week.
He said on WOW: "We’ve agreed everything with Sunderland but there is
a snag at their end. If they can get that sorted out then I’m hopeful that
he will be with us on Monday morning. But, it might take longer than
that."
Wolves 2-2 Stockport
Stockport took the lead after 24
minutes through a Kuqi free-kick against the run of play after Robinson was judged
to have handled just outside the penalty area.
Cameron missed a penalty just before half-time. Clare fouled Blake but
Cameron's spot kick hit the post.
Half-Time: Wolves 0-1 Stockport.
Wolves drew level on 69 mins through an own goal after the ball hit the post from

Team News
The FA has announced there will
be a minutes silence before every game tomorrow because of the tragedy in
America.
Wolves: New signing
Nathan Blake is expected to make his debut alongside either Roussel,
Proudlock or Miller. Wolves
only injury worries are defender Ludovic Pollet (back) and winger Mark
Kennedy (groin).
Stockport: will be
without Ali Gibb and Neil Hardy for their trip to Molineux.
Rae Agrees Terms
Wolves
boss Dave Jones is set to make his second signing in two day's, Sunderland
midfielder Alex Rae. The tough-tackling Scot has agreed terms with Wolves
and will have a medical today before completing a £1,200,000 move to
Molineux, hopefully in time to make his debut tomorrow.
Dave Jones was going to buy Rae earlier this summer but shelved those plans
while the 32 year old recovered fully from knee surgery. Then when Rae said
he wanted regular first-team football which he is not guaranteed at
Sunderland, the Wolves boss re-opened talks with him yesterday.
13th September 2001
Larkin Out on Loan
Wolves striker Colin Larkin has joined Kidderminster Harriers on
a months loan, the 19-year-old plays in the reserves and has scored three goals in four games
so far this season.
Wolves boss Dave Jones said: "It’s just a loan similar to the one that Keith Andrews had at Oxford and Adam Proudlock did at
Clyde".
After those players came back from their loans they broke into the first
team and have kept their places with good performances, so keep an eye out
for his return.
Blake Signing Complete
Nathan
Blake has completed his move to Molineux on a three year contract for £1.5
million from Blackburn. The Welsh International striker is taking part in
his first training session this morning and will be revealed by Wolves at a
2pm press conference.
Blake is likely to make his debut on Saturday against Stockport.
12th September 2001
Blake Bid Accepted
Wolves have had a £1,400,000
bid for Wales international striker Nathan Blake accepted by Blackburn, but
the deal is far from complete.
Blake and his representative are expected at Molineux today for talks and
for the striker to have a medical.
Jez Moxey said on WOW "I would like to stress that although Blackburn
have accepted our offer for Nathan, there is still work to be done on the
deal,"
Boss Dave Jones added on WOW: "Nathan's vast experience would be
invaluable in helping us achieve our aims. He has played for his country at
all levels, has 20 full caps and has scored goals wherever he has
played."
Reserves Go Top
Wolves reserves have gone top of
the Avon Insurance League after beating Oldham 1-0. The goal was scored
halfway through the second half, the Oldham goalkeeper miskicked when he was
clearing the ball and it went straight to Colin Larkin on the edge of the
box who steered it home.

Kennedy Denies Beckham Involved
Mark Kennedy has denied that the
Beckham's were involved in the incident on Saturday night. He issued a
statement saying: "At
no time on Saturday night were words exchanged between myself and David
Beckham, whilst we were present with our separate group of friends in a wine
bar.
"David and Victoria are neighbours and there has never been any
antagonism between either myself or my partner and the Beckhams. As a fellow professional footballer I admire David for his ability,
professionalism and the way he and Victoria live their lives under such
intense public scrutiny.
"I strongly deny the content of the story in today’s Sun
newspaper. I have also spoken to David who has told me not to worry about it.
"Having spoken to my agent, we have decided to seek legal opinion
prior to further action regarding the accusations and allegations contained
in today’s article."
Kennedy faces disciplinary action from Wolves, which could be a
maximum of the club fining him two weeks wages, he is one of the highest
paid players at Molineux thought to be in the region of £12,000 a week.
Wolves chief executive Jez Mozey has said: "We
do not condone this sort of behaviour, however, we have invested a large
amount of money in this player and he is doing well on the field.
So, whilst we do not approve of his behaviour, we will support
him."
11th September 2001
Kennedy v The Beckham's
Wolves
midfielder Mark Kennedy has reportedly been charged with dangerous driving
in his Ferrari and failing to give a specimen to police, after a alleged row
with England Captain David Beckham and his wife. Reports say Kennedy
insulted Mr Beckham and teased Mrs Beckham about having false breasts. The
row is reported to have started up again later at about 2.30am on Sunday
when Kennedy, who lives in the same block in Cheshire's exclusive Alderley
Edge area, kept pressing the buzzer to the Beckham's apartment and hurled
abuse. The police have said he's been bailed to appear before Macclesfield
magistrates on 19th September.
Transfer News
Wigan
have finally completed the £750,000 signing of Tony Dinning after initially
taking the midfielder on loan at the weekend so he could play against Bury.
Wolves were thought to be looking for £1 million but settled on £750,000
plus a 20 percent sell on fee.
Crystal Palace are reported to be trying to sign Ludovic Pollet for around
£1 million, Dave Jones has said Pollet is not for sale, and is in the
bosses promotion plans. The defender hasn't featured so far this season,
mainly due to form of defensive duo Paul Butler and Joleon Lescott.
Nuneaton Borough striker Marc McGregor is having a week-long trial at
Molineux, the 25 year old will train with the first-team squad.
Preston have still not decided whether to accept Jon Mackens transfer
request.
Double Kids Win
Wolves
under 19's and under 17's had victories against Wimbledon this weekend. Leon
Clarke scored the under 19's goal in their 1-0 victory at Wimbledon and Gary
Mulligan got both goals as the under 17's won 2-1.
10th September 2001
Preston Stalling
Preston are not going to be
rushed into a decision over selling striker Jon Macken. It looked like
Wolves had given up hope after having three bids turned down for Macken by
Preston, but after Macken handed in a transfer request it's thought Wolves
have put in a new bid of around £5 million.
Loan Updates
Wolves
have been offered an extension to Kenny Millers 3 month loan from Rangers if
they wish.
Loan keeper Marlon Beresford's loan period doesn't look likely to be
extended after Middlesbrough keeper Mark Schwarzer was sent off on Saturday
for a professional foul. Beresford's loan finishes after this weekends match
and he will probably return to The Riverside to act as cover for Mark
Crossley.

minutes, a free kick on the edge of the box was headed in by Lucketti.

1 Out 1 In
Wolves
unveiled their new arrival at Molineux this Rangers striker Kenny Miller who
has joined on a three month loan. Then this evening said goodbye to Tony
Dinning who has joined Wigan, the transfer was rushed through so he can make
his debut tomorrow if picked. Tony joined Wolves a year ago from Stockport
for £600,000.
Wigan Bid for Dinning
Midfielder Tony Dinning has requested permission to speak to
Wigan, Wolves have a greed a £1 million transfer fee with a 20% sell on
fee. It's thought the deal could be done in time for Dinning to make his
first appearance in Wigans match with Bury tomorrow.
Wolves boss Dave Jones said: "We had an approach from Wigan but we didn’t want to sell Tony. We are trying to build, not dismantle. However, Tony said he wanted to speak to them so we had to agree a fee."
"He said he’d read about Wigan's interest in the papers and wanted to go up there and talk to them."
"I think it’s strange because he’s playing, but I’m not going to keep an unhappy person. That shows he doesn’t want to be part things here. If he doesn’t want to play for Wolves it’s as simple as that."
Transfer Request by Macken
Preston NE have confirmed Wolves
summer target Jon Macken has handed in a transfer request. Wolves had three
offers refused and are thought to be ready with £5 million bid this time
that probably won't be turned down.

Rangers striker Kenny Miller
loan to Wolves is set to be completed later today and he's expected to make
his Wolves debut against Preston on Saturday.
The striker has arrived back from Scotland Under-21 duty and will link up
with his new team-mates once the deal has been finalised.
Miller has reluctantly accepted the simple fact that there is no longer a
place for him under Dick Advocaat at Ibrox, and will now get some much
needed first-team football at Molineux.

400 tickets for their match with Preston this weekend at Deepdale.

The results of the scan revealed that there is a slight tear in the tendon
and he will be out of action for a month. It was originally hoped that he
would be fit for the Preston match, but another set back hits his injury

Akinbiyi
Return?
Jez Moxey has confirmed that
during the summer Wolves made an enquiry to Leicester about Ade Akinbiyi.
Wolves sold Akinbiyi to Leicester for £5million and are now being linked
with a unconfirmed £3.2 million bid for him.
"We have made a number of enquiries about the availability of different
strikers this summer and Ade was one of the players we thought about,"
said Moxey.
"However, we have been told he is not for sale. In all honesty I think
Leicester manager Peter Taylor would sell him, but he does not have the
appetite to do business with us."

Jones's
Lescott Warning
Wolves boss Dave Jones has
issued a warning to Premiership clubs that might be interested in signing
Wolves young star defender Joleon Lescott, the player is not for sale.
Jones said: "There is a lot of talk about Joleon and he attracts a lot
of mentions when I am out and about on my travels.
"If someone comes in with a ridiculous amount of money for him then of
course we would have to consider it.
"But the good thing is that we don't have to sell as those days are
gone at Molineux and that is beneficial to me."
